April 17, 2026 April 17, 2026

It was an unseasonably warm week at The Lake, with record-breaking temperatures across the region. Our Spartans made the most of it, enjoying time outside for lunch, recess, outside classes, and athletic competitions throughout the week.

Be sure to check out the intramural offering for 6th grade, now available for registration. It is a great way for students to stay active and have fun after school.

We wish our Spartans the best of luck next week as PSSA testing begins on Tuesday, April 21. We know they are ready to show what they know. More information is included in the mailing.

Sincerely,
Ryan Buterbaugh

Principal

As we enter our testing window, we are focusing on our core values of being Ready, Responsible, and Resilient.

  • Ready: Please help your child come to school each day with a fully charged Chromebook and their charger so they are prepared to begin on time.
  • Responsible: Students are expected to take their time, follow directions, and put forth their best effort on each section of the assessment.
  • Resilient: Testing can be challenging, and we are encouraging students to stay positive, keep going, and do their best even when questions feel difficult.

We have discussed the purpose of the assessment with students and how it reflects their learning.

We are proud of the hard work our Spartans have shown this year.

Thank you for supporting your child in being Ready, Responsible, and Resilient each day.

To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.

Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
