Caldwell Schools Board Report
Update from Zone 2 Trustee Manuel Godina
January 2024
The Caldwell School District Board of Trustees is introducing their Trustee update. This update is intended to provide information on Board decisions, as well as school and community events.
Trustee Manuel Godina
I've lived in Canyon County all my life and for the last 27 years have made Caldwell my home. Growing up I worked many years in agriculture and benefited by gaining a strong work ethic. Currently, I am an employee at Norco where I assist customers with their home medical needs. I have been married for 22 amazing years to my wife Liz; together we have three beautiful daughters. My two older daughters started and completed their education in Caldwell; one is a graduate of the College of Idaho, the other attends the College of Western Idaho. My youngest daughter attends Caldwell High School. I've had the privilege of coaching girls fast-pitch softball for many years in our community. As a coach, I got to see local students grow as athletes and as people. I'm dedicated to this great community and want to help Caldwell Schools prepare our kids to achieve their goals no matter what they are.
ANNUAL ORGANIZATION MEETING
Each year, Idaho School Boards hold an Annual Meeting, as required by law, to elect officers and other required business. This meeting allows School Boards to Elect Board Officers such as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Trustees nominated Marisela Pesina as Chair and Trustee Travis Manning as Vice Chair of the Board. Trustees also nominated Manuel Godina as Treasurer and Keely Cheney as Board Clerk.
Board Members approved their regular meetings for the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. They also identified dates and times for board work sessions. Trustees Manuel Godina, Travis Manning, and Andrew Butler were also sworn-in as newly elected Board Members. They will serve a four-year term.
