HEMLOCK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH GAGGLE REACHOUT FOR 24/7 STUDENT CRISIS LINE

Hemlock Public School District, in its ongoing commitment to student welfare, is proud to announce a significant partnership with Gaggle ReachOut, launching a 24/7 crisis line dedicated to providing immediate support for students in need. This innovative service offers both a phone line and a chat feature, ensuring accessible, round-the-clock assistance.

The Gaggle ReachOut crisis line is more than just a helpline; it's a lifeline that fosters a personal connection—a crucial element often sought by today’s digitally savvy students. This service ensures that every student has access to a trained, caring professional ready to offer help in real-time at the very moment it's needed most.

"Our students live in a world where digital interaction is the norm, yet the yearning for a personal, human connection remains strong," said Matt Wesener, Board President of Hemlock Public School District. "Through our partnership with Gaggle ReachOut, we are meeting this need head-on, offering a service that combines the best of technology with the irreplaceable value of human empathy and understanding."

In addition to providing immediate assistance, this service allows the school district to stay informed about their students' challenges. Regular reports on the usage of the crisis line will enable the district to understand better and address the needs of its student body.

"The introduction of the Gaggle ReachOut student crisis line is a testament to our dedication to creating a supportive, empathetic, and responsive educational environment," said Don Killingbeck, Superintendent of Hemlock Public School District. "We believe in empowering our students with the resources they need to thrive academically and personally. This service is a significant step towards fulfilling that promise."

NEWS FROM NURSE BECKY NEWS FROM NURSE BECKY

May is National Stroke and Blood Pressure Awareness Month. 1 in 5 adults with high blood pressure don’t even know they have it. It’s also estimated that 1 in 25 youths ages 12-19 have high blood pressure or hypertension. What is the cause of our adolescents having these “adult” types of health issues? Well, a lot of it has to do with our weight, our lifestyle, and the food we eat. Over time, untreated hypertension can lead to heart disease, kidney disease, and stroke. Make yourself and your loved ones a healthy promise to prevent these diseases by monitoring your blood pressure, watching your salt intake, and eating fruits and vegetables. Small healthy changes to our lifestyle can add years to our lives. See the infographic to educate yourself on high blood pressure and stroke awareness. Our seed library is now open! Visit your library and take for FREE, any seeds you would like for your garden. We have quite a few interesting options. They do go fast so don't wait too long to come browse. Just remember, to keep the seed library going, we ask that you save seeds in the fall to restock our supply. A big thank you too to Lisa, our volunteer, who does all the work to make this happen! #gardentime #seedlibrary #MyRML
