Leadership Message Leadership Message

Welcome back to the first week of school after our November break. It was a blessing connecting with students, staff and families! I adored hearing about their adventures and experiences over the break. It's great to be back as a school community again!

I could not be MORE proud of our St. Luke Students and their incredible display of respect and reverence at our No Stone Left Alone Remembrance Day Service at the South Cooking Lake Cemetery. At our Tuesday GIFT assembly, I shared with students that I received 2 emails from community members complimenting the students on their incredible kindness, respect and commitment to honour everyone at the cemetery. These community members were SO impressed, we have been asked to go back every year!!! Bravo St. Luke!!!

Also so incredibly proud of the two students above...These two have chosen to deepen their roles in their faith and are celebrating the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation in the next few week! Join us for mass on Sunday Dec. 1 @ 10:30am to celebrate First Communion with our St. Luke student, and Sunday December 8th at 2;30pm (special time) for the Confirmation mass! Congratulations and thank you for your Faith Leadership!

With continued gratitude for our fantastic community,

Pamela Gravelle

Principal

Introducing...Shepherd on the Search! Introducing...Shepherd on the Search!

We are so excited to begin the exciting journey of our very own St. Luke's Shepherd on the Search! He's like Elf on the Shelf, but our Shepherd is on his way to find Jesus and the manger. Each day he will move throughout the school, finding his way towards the chapel and Jesus! Students will read the story this coming week, and when Advent begins, our Shepherd will begin his search! Students will be encouraged this coming week to name our Shepherd! Stay tuned! Then throughout Advent....find our Shepherd!

Winter is upon us, and it looks so pretty outside. This is the perfect time of year, to curl up with a warm blanket, maybe sit by the fire, some hot chocolate, and read a good book.

What are you reading today???

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend everyone!

Pep Rally! Pep Rally!

To celebrate the incredible hard work by the St. Luke Girls Volleyball team and the dedication of Miss Diduck, you're invited to the STL Volleyball Pep Rally on Wednesday Nov. 17 at 1:40pm. It will be an exciting game of the Staff VS Students!!! Come have some fun and check out our new uniforms! See you there!

Cold Weather is HERE! Cold Weather is HERE!

Students will be outside! Students will be outside!

As outlined in the introduction of Polar Bear Recess, outdoor play is vital for children's wellness and growth.

Students will be outside to -25 degrees Celcius or -25 Windchill. Thank you for ensuring your children are coming to school with their outdoor gear to be healthy and safe! If you need help with having warm clothes, please contact us at the office. We are happy to help.

Indoor & Outdoor Shoes Indoor & Outdoor Shoes

Thank you for ensuring that all children have both indoor and outdoor shoes.

As we move into the colder weather, children need more insulation to keep their toes warm when outside, and less when they are inside. Plus, taking off outdoor shoes helps to keep the school clean and the floors dry for safety.

After the November break we will begin to enforce the expectation for all students to have indoor and outdoor shoes. Thank you for you help with this.

Christmas in the Country is only a few weeks away! We are very excited to once again be hosting this annual community event.

Come out and join us on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

The day includes more than 40 tables to peruse for those hard to buy for friends and family members, a craft corner to keep the kiddos busy while you shop and a concession featuring coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs and other snacking items.

As always, entry is free. There will be a box available for Food Bank donations and the tree will be ready to receive mittens for our annual mitten tree. Donations will be dropped off to those in need.

Community events don't happen without help from our parents and students and we are in need of several volunteers for the day. Please click the Survey Genius link below to lend your time in support of our students.
