Back to School Update

First Day, orientation, and more!

Back to SchoolUpdate First Day, orientation, and more!
We are excited to welcome our Mountain Ridge Primary students and families, and we want to share some important updates as we prepare for the start of the school year.

Updated Start Date: Monday, August 24 Updated Start Date: Monday, August 24

To allow a little more time for final preparations, Mountain Ridge Primary students will now begin the school year on Monday, August 24.

Over the past several days, we have experienced a few additional timing challenges with our temporary modular campus, including ceiling installation and flooring work. While we continue to make great progress, we believe these few additional days will make an important difference.

The extra time will allow for the completion of the remaining work on campus, the preparation of classrooms and learning spaces, and ensuring everything is ready to welcome students. Most importantly, it will give our teachers the time they need to create warm, welcoming classrooms and thoughtfully prepare for their students before the first day.

We know that changes to the school calendar can affect families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through these final preparations. Our goal is to make sure that when your child walks through the doors, their teachers and school are ready to give them the wonderful start they deserve.

Getting Ready for Our Students Getting Ready for Our Students

Our temporary learning campus is coming together, and we are excited to see it take shape each day.

  • Modular classrooms are in place and coming to life.
  • Water and sewer connections are complete.
  • Interior finishing work and site preparations are continuing.
  • Paving and flooring work are being finalized.
  • Furniture is scheduled to be moved into the modular classrooms, giving teachers and staff additional time to set up and personalize their classrooms and learning spaces.
  • Safety fencing, directional signage, and other final campus preparations will be completed before students arrive.

While this temporary campus is only part of our journey to the new Mountain Ridge Primary, we want it to feel like a school community from the very first day—a place where students feel safe, welcomed, cared for, and ready to learn.

Orientation Update: Thursday, August 20 Orientation Update: Thursday, August 20

We have adjusted the family orientation schedule to Thursday, August 20, following the change to the start of the school year. This updated date will give students and families an opportunity to receive important information, become familiar with the temporary campus, meet their child’s teacher, and help their child feel comfortable and excited about the year ahead. Additional details about orientation will be shared soon.

We appreciate your flexibility as we make these changes and look forward to welcoming students and families to orientation.

We recognize that this has been a different start to the school year than any of us originally imagined, and we know how much families are looking forward to seeing their children in their new school.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and support as we navigate these final steps together. Our teachers and staff are eager to welcome students on Monday, August 24, and we are excited to begin this new chapter with the Mountain Ridge Primary community.
