Principal's Corner
Mark your calendar!
We will be doing middle of the year awards on January 17th during the school day. More information will be coming soon.
Holiday Parties:
- Holiday Parties will be held on Dec 20 from 2:15-3:00 pm.
- parents will not be coming to the sing along. We will begin giving stickers at 2:00 and all parents will be released to classrooms at 2:15
- Due to space, 2 parents allowed PER student and no siblings- this allows for there to be enough space for all children to have a guest and for you to enjoy time with your child at their party with no distractions. There will be no exceptions to this.
-Here is the link to pre-register for the party in order to have your sticker ready in the office with less waiting!
- you may take your child from the party at 3:00 pm
-Questions?- please out to Ms. Jeffries via email at ljeffries@garlandisd.net OR via DOJO.
In an effort to be respectful to all families, I have created a form for families to complete in order choose a different option forWinter Party/Sing Along participation. If opting out, we will plan a different activity for the group to be able to participate in. Ifinterested, please complete this form so we can make appropriate plans.

Parent Lunches
However, here are a few guidelines for parent lunches:
- student may only have a visitor once a week
- the visitor must be on the child's emergency contact list
- ONLY the visitor and the child may sit together at lunch at the designated tables. The ONLY exception is if there are siblings in the same grade.
- visitors are NOT to address any other students while attending lunch
- food that is brought to the cafeteria can only be for the visitor and the student they are eating with.
These guidelines are subject to change at any time.
DISMISSAL ANNOUNCEMENT! PLEASE READ!
Parents:
It is essential for you to pick your child(ren) up on time. We understand that there are times that things happen but picking up beyond 4:00 is not acceptable. Our staff has meetings as well as other family obligations to attend following the work day. When you are late, it holds everyone up from doing what they need to do. Please be mindful of this.
Dismissal will begin at 3:30 for the duration of the school year! Thank you for being patient as students learn the routines and procedures! Our goal everyday is a 3:45 end time for dismissal!
Please make sure that you are staying in your car and going through the car rider pickup. We need to keep the front clear for special situations, buses and daycare. Please review the following guidelines:
1) student transportation changes are accepted up to 2:00. If you have changes, the office AND teacher must be notified.
2) you MUST have your ID to pick up any child. Even if you have been to the school before. You will be required to have an ID to pick up a child from the office.
3) you MUST have a car tag to go through the car line. If you do not, you will proceed to the front office and get a new card. You will be required to wait until 3:50/3:55 when dismissal has ended to get your child.
4) no students will be called to the office during dismissal. You will have to wait for late pickup.
5). no students will be dismissed after 3:00 PM. If you are not at the school before 3 PM, you will be required to proceed through the dismissal line.
6) Please stay in your dismissal "Color" line (orange or green). Even if a child is absent, you stay in the same color lane.
Class Dojo
Class Dojo is essential. It is the one-stop-shop to stay current with what is going on in your child's classroom and at Liberty Grove! Please be on the lookout for the invite from your child's teacher. Thanks for all that you do!
