February 2026 SPARK Newsletter

Summit Road STEMElementaryFebruary 2026 SPARK Newsletter

February always brings a mix of cold weather and unpredictable snow days, and this year has certainly kept us on our toes. We appreciate your flexibility and support as we work through these winter challenges together. As we move into the next few months, our focus in the building remains strong on learning and growth. Students are spending important time strengthening their writing, math, and reading skills, while continuing to engage in hands on STEM learning that encourages problem solving, creativity, and curiosity. These months are a critical time for academic progress, and consistent attendance, warm winter gear, and encouragement at home make a big difference. We are excited to see our students continue to grow as we head toward spring. Thank you for being such supportive partners in your child’s learning.

HeartFest HeartFest

On Friday February 13th , we will be having our annual Heartfest at school. During our

Heartfest we will have stations that educate our students about our heart, activity

stations that “workout” the heart, as well as some health and science stations where

students will explore the heart, blood and challenge us to try some things that promote

heart health...throughout this day I am hoping the children might be inspired to adopt

heart healthy choices!

How can you help?!...we are in need of a few adult volunteers!

Volunteers would be in charge of helping run stations, and discussing healthy drink

options and helping with arts and crafts...throughout the day all classes will rotate to 6

different activities. If you would be willing to help out, please fill out the form below and

let us know you are available to help! Stations will be assigned the day of the heart

fest when you arrive.

Do you have a special skill or training that you could lead on this day?...We are looking

for a chef, nutrition specialist or even someone who could lead a yoga or aerobic

workout. If you would be willing to share your talents and lead an activity please email

me at Agochenour@reyn.org to discuss your talents you would like to share with us!

We are using TalkingPoints as our main communication method. Parent/Guardians will be automatically enrolled with your phone number and e-mail addresses on file in the office.

It is very important that your phone number is updated so you can stay up to date with information from the building! To begin, TalkingPoints will automatically allow us to communicate with text messages to your phone. If you wish, you can download the TalkingPoints Parent app to your phone. This allows you to do more advanced features such as react to messages, RSVP to events, and more. Downloading an app is optional.

Any changes in phone number, e-mail address, or other important information should be communicated to the front office as soon as you can.

Change of addresses are required by Ohio Law, and should be communicated with our welcome center. Maggie in the Summit front office can help with this process.

Teachers send home a weekly newsletter with photos, upcoming events, and current happenings. Please be sure you are checking your child's newsletter! If you are not receiving Talking Point messages, please call the office.
