Students that are picked up early from school MUST be signed out by a parent or guardian.

Parents MUST park and come to the office to sign their child out of school. Thank you for understanding that this practice is being put in for the safety of all out students.

House Bill 2299 (HB 2299) House Bill 2299 (HB 2299)

Beginning this school year, Kansas House Bill 2299 (HB 2299) requires all public schools to prohibit student use of personal electronic communication devices during the school day. In accordance with this new state law, all cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other personal electronic devices at Sunflower Elementary must be turned off and remain in students' backpacks from the time they arrive at school until dismissal.

This expectation helps minimize distractions, supports student learning, and encourages meaningful interactions throughout the day. We appreciate your partnership in helping your child understand and follow this expectation. If you need to get a message to your child during the school day, please contact the school office, and we will be happy to assist.

  • Anyone: Sign up for Panther Alerts on our district web page. These are generic texts for all patrons, but not student specific.
  • Anyone: Like our Sunflower Facebook page and see up to date events and news.
