What is Title I Reading?
Tyrone Elementary is a school-wide Title I school. Our District reading curriculum is supported and supplemented by the Title I program in assessment, instruction, data-collection, and score reporting. Our reading specialists work closely with our classroom teachers to support the achievement of our students. It is truly a "school-wide" effort. All students benefit from the program.
What is Title I?
Title I is the nation's largest federal assistance program for schools.
Title I provides :
- funds to support programs to help children who need extra help in reading.
- extra help in addition to what the children learn during reading in the classroom.
- support for families through parent and family engagement events and activities.
Join our next Parent and Family Engagement Event! The elementary school will be hosting our annual BINGO for Books event on February 13, 2025 from 5:30-7:00. During this event, all PreK- 4th grade students and family members are invited to join us for a few games of BINGO. All students will win new books and other small items as prizes. Parent Drop Off Reminder
As a reminder, parent drop off happens in the rear of the elementary building between 7:30-8:00 am. No students should be dropped off in the front or along the side of the building prior to 8:00 am. The drop off process is designed to unload students quickly and safely. If you are dropping your child off, be sure to pull all the way up, 4 cars should be able to unload at the same time. It is also important for the exiting child to be sitting on the passenger side of the car so they can exit directly to the sidewalk. Parents should not exit their car when dropping off, the child should be able to exit the car unassisted. If you wish to exit the car with your child, please use a parking spot and walk your child to the sidewalk.
