MAY 2026
🌺🌅🍧🩷🍍
Dear DCA students and families,
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone. I am truly grateful for the growth we’ve seen across our school community—both academically and personally.
The number of students earning certifications and early college credit continues to rise and therefore proves that with a little hard work and dedication, you can succeed! I am incredibly proud of our students as they continue building skills and confidence on their journey to becoming opportunity-ready.
We would like to invite you to our ✨Awards Ceremony on May 20th from 12:30–1:30 p.m. During this special event, we will celebrate the many accomplishments and milestones our students have achieved this year. We hope you can join us!
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Warm regards, 🩷
Jen Wegner
Principal

Business Management & Administration: Katie Jacobson
Katie Jacobson continues to make a strong impact both inside and outside of the classroom during her third year at DCA. Through her leadership, work ethic, and positive classroom presence, she has become an outstanding example of student success and involvement.
One of Katie's biggest accomplishments this year was qualifying for the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in Project Management. She earned first place at the Regional Competition to advance to State, where she placed third overall in Wisconsin and secured her spot as a national qualifier. Her success reflects the dedication, and professionalism she brings to everything she does.
Katie Jacobson is also part of the Youth Apprenticeship program, a partnership between school and local employers that provides students with real world career experience while earning school credit. Through this program, she works at a furniture store in Hayward where she manages the company website, creates social media promotions, and assists with customer service. Her ability to apply classroom learning in an authentic business setting demonstrates both responsibility and career readiness.
Academically, Katie challenges herself with a rigorous course schedule that includes dual credit college opportunities and industry certification courses. In live classes, she consistently contributes by coming on mic, sharing ideas, and encouraging discussion among classmates. Kate does not simply attend class, she makes a presence and helps create a positive learning environment for others.

CTSO REFLECTIONS
Skills USA
1st/3rd Fridays @12:10pm
This year, SkillsUSA focused on its building leadership and collaborative abilities. We participated in a nation-wide event called Elevate where we got to hear from people all over, as well as problem solve amongst ourselves and strengthen our chapter's bonds. We also talk a bit in our meetings, both about possible projects and about our own personal aspirations. I think SkillsUSA is a great community amongst the students and I'm looking forward to seeing what we do in future years.
FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America
2nd and 4th Monday @ 11:30
This year, FBLA gave members the opportunity to compete, grow, and connect with others across the state. Members competed at Regionals and State, with one qualifying for Nationals this summer in Texas. In November, members also attended the Fall Leadership Conference, where they learned more about leadership, careers, and teamwork. Throughout the year, members met every other week to stay connected, discuss upcoming opportunities, and support the chapter. Even though our chapter is small, members continued to represent DCA through competition, leadership, and personal growth throughout the year.
FFA - Future Farmers of America
2nd & 4th Wednesday @12:10pm
This year, our FFA chapter focused on creating opportunities for students to connect, serve, and grow as leaders. From organizing our Food Drive to celebrating FFA Week with fun games and engaging lunch activities, members had many chances to get involved and build relationships throughout the school year. Our Photo Contest also highlighted the creativity and talents of DCA Students while showcasing the everyday connection everyone has to agriculture. We are proud of all that our members accomplished this year and are excited to continue expanding opportunities that help students develop their leadership skills, teamwork, and confidence!
HOSA - Future Health Professionals
2nd & 4th Mondays @12:15
Throughout the school year, HOSA focused on the interests of its members. The board members all worked together to create the slides for each class, which contained our World of Health topics, interactive trivia, virtual field trips, and video lessons from the HOSA website - which were all topics voted on and chosen by the CTSO's members. During our last meeting, we sent out a survey requesting anonymous feedback from students asking what they wish we would do more of and what they would do differently.
NTHS - National Technical Honors society
1st/3rd Fridays @11:15am
This year, our NTHS has made remarkable progress towards becoming an engaging space while providing even more opportunities for growth among its members. Throughout the year, various projects were completed, most notably - Hosting “vision of a graduate” student-led homerooms, hosting a shoe collection fundraiser, elevating the monthly newsletter, and even winning a silver star of excellence award. All were made possible through the help, teamwork, and dedication of its members. NTHS made an impact on not only DCAs school communities, but the lives of its members too. I look forward to watching NTHS grow throughout the years, and am proud to grow with it.
