Principal's Corner Principal's Corner

Dear BFPP Families,

it has been a wonderful and busy few weeks. Between the Winter Showcase, Celebrating Caroll and the Craft Fair, it is amazing how BFPP comes together! It is always joyful and full of fun. I am truly honored and in awe at how we continue to not just persevere through it all, but thrive and inspire!

I am looking forward to spending some time with family and friends over this winter break. There will be celebrations, times for creativity and recreation, and with a new year coming the opportunity to reflect. One reflection will include the belief in our strength together and the love that I feel for my family away from home. You are MY BFPP!

Warmly, Principal Kate

iReady Winter Assessment Window ~ Register By 1/10 iReady Winter Assessment Window ~ Register By 1/10

The iReady Math and Reading assessment is our district's K-8th grade growth and diagnostic tool for skill building. Families may use this assessment to personalize instruction, monitor progress and measure skill gains and achievement. Participation in this assessment is the choice of the family; however, MyPath, a supplemental online curriculum for math and reading, can only be accessed by taking iReady.

Important information about iReady:

  • iReady will help determine areas of strength and growth in reading and math
  • iReady should be used 3x a year (fall, winter, spring) to chart your childโ€™s growth
  • iReady is an adaptive, online assessment that corresponds with My Path online curriculum
  • iReady is done at home with your technical guidance, but not your help
  • The assessment is open for those who register from January 11th through 24th
  • Learn more about i-Ready by watching the following videos:

  1. I-Ready Diagnostic for Families
  2. I-Ready Family Center

You must register your child to take the iReady assessment. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

Registration is open now through January 10TH at 3:00pm.

Once registered, you will have the window of January 11th-January 24th to complete the assessment at home by using the iReady link. The iReady link is found on our BFPP website under the โ€œAcademicsโ€ tab. Be aware that the assessment is only available during school days and hours; Mon-Friday 7:00-4:00pm. Your child must have a school district laptop for the assessment. If you need a laptop, please contact Peggy Gallegos. Please connect with your Learning Partner and/or email Erin McCarthy with questions.

Around the World Class Around the World Class

Our school is a wonderfully diverse and sharing community. One of our parents Khalidah Ewaz, mom of Rihanna and Ibrahim Qul, visited our class and shared Farsi language and culture with our Around the Globe class. Nesrine Rahme, mom of Mahina and Noelle Zabriskie, also visited our Globe class and shared a fascinating, informative, and culturally sensitive presentation about Lebanon and the Arab World.
