During @HomeLearning, LMS would like to send an ALL Call to create, draw, paint, sculpt, or collage. Please use this unique time to showcase your imagination and creativity. Share photos of your artwork on social media. Tag @lakesidelobos and use #loboscreate.
In addition, follow our talented LEISD artist on Instagram @LEISDARTS. Teachers will post student's artwork from all over the district for all to see.
Interim Grading Guidelines
The COVID-19 global health crisis has caused a major shift in education to remote learning. This new way of doing school has impacted the instructional and grading systems teachers are used to giving and students are used to earning.
We recognize students have different levels of support and instructional resources at home. It is our intention to provide as many opportunities to ensure our At-Home learning assignments will help a student’s overall Spring Semester grade, not hurt it.
The District has worked to compile interim grading guidelines for the 4th nine-week grading period. The following guidelines apply for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, regardless of when we return.
@HomeLearning Continues
LEISD will provide students with quality instructional resources throughout the duration of the district closure. These are instructional activities to keep students engaged and learning while social distancing. Week two resources will remain available for another week.
- Low Tech Option: LEISD is no longer offering paper packets of the learning materials. All at home learning will be completed online.
- High Tech Option: Students will use their Chromebook devices to access all activities on LEISD's Instructional Resources Homepage and posted to the Learning Management System used by the teachers of their individual content (Canvas, Google Classroom, Active Classroom).

Teachers will be available to provide instructional support Monday - Friday during Virtual Office hours, while the district is closed. During virtual hours, teachers will be available to virtually contact students in order to provide support with online learning activities, check on their well-being, provide feedback and interventions as necessary. Virtual contact can be made via email, phone using the District’s 8x8 system, or through Zoom. Parents and students are also able to reach out to teachers and staff via email. PM Virtual Office Hours: Monday - Friday 3:00 - 4:00pm
Meal Service Changes Next Week
LEISD will continue to provide free curbside meals to our families; however, we have to do it in a way that reduces exposure and risk to the staff, parents, and students. LEISD will be distributing meals only one day a week on Mondays between 12-1:30 pm at the following locations:
- Oak Point Elementary: 401 Shahan Prairie Road, Oak Point
- Brent Elementary: 500 Witt Road, Little Elm
- Chavez Elementary: 2600 Hart Road, Little Elm
- Hackberry Elementary: 7200 Snug Harbor Circle, Frisco
- Lakeside Middle School: 400 Lobo Lane, Little Elm
- Hilltown Neighborhood at Post Oak and Cottonwood bus stop
Meal distribution will continue to be a “Grab and Go” set up. One person will exit the vehicle and grab one bag that holds five breakfasts and one bag that holds five lunches for the students who need meals. People who walk to a location should keep their distance from each other while grabbing their meals. Staff will be on-hand monitoring and will maintain a six-foot space between everyone who is present. Children no longer are required to be present to receive the meal, however, parents will need to bring one of the following documents to receive a meal:
- Official Letter/email from school listing children enrolled
- Individual student report cards
- Attendance record from parent portal of school website
- Birth certificate for children not in school
- Student ID cards
The safety of our community is our number one priority. Based on the guidance from health experts, we feel this is a safer way to continue meal service to our families.
Internet Connectivity Resources
Grande Communications is the newest internet provider to offer free internet to qualifying low-income households. Many internet providers are offering free or reduced services to assist families in need during this period of “at-home learning”. Visit our Internet Resources webpage for a collection of some of the offers currently available.
Technology Support
Parents and students that are having a Tech Request can email LEISD Technology anytime at help@littleelmisd.net or can call Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 972-292-1847.

EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS!!!
Showing up to school everyday has a huge impact on student's academic success. Excused or unexcused absences impacts student's course grades, course credit, academic performance on state testing, and is a powerful predictor of student drop out. In addition, student who fall below the 90 percent attendance law are at danger of losing course credit or receiving a final grade. Please help us to improve student attendance and ensure every student is present everyday.
