Make sure your child eats a good breakfast.
Arrive at school on time.
Prohibited Devices During Testing - Students are NOT PERMITTED to possess or access any electronic devices while in the testing room. If a student accesses any of these devices during testing, this will constitute a prohibited behavior and the student's test results in that content area may be invalidated and a score of 0 entered in PowerSchool. Additional disciplinary action may also be taken.

Ms. Colson Recieves Innovative Teaching Award
We are excited to announce that our faculty has selected Kristin Colson as the University School Outstanding Innovative Teacher of the Year. The most innovative teacher award is an award given annually during the Clemmer College of Education and Human Development Awards Ceremony.
For the past five years, Ms. Colson has been a cornerstone of the University School faculty, teaching K-8 Art, AP Art History, and Journalism. Her commitment to fostering creativity and intellectual growth in every student is truly remarkable.
Through her innovative approach, Ms. Colson has revitalized and expanded our art education offerings at all grade levels. Whether she’s leading inspiring art projects for our younger students, guiding high schoolers through the complexities of AP Art History, or empowering aspiring journalists, her passion for education shines through in everything she does.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Colson can always be counted on to lend a hand, whether it's helping with school events, curating student art exhibits, or contributing to the vibrant atmosphere around campus. Her contributions extend into the broader community, as her work is a testament to the positive impact she has on all of us.
Additionally, Ms. Colson has taken on the crucial responsibility of producing our school’s yearbook, capturing the memories and milestones that define our school year. Her tireless work and unwavering dedication make her an invaluable member of the University School family.

Underground Spirit Week
This week, something mysterious and magical swept through our hallways… and our students definitely noticed!
We hosted an Underground Spirit Week—a secret, faculty-only celebration designed to bring surprise, laughter, and a whole lot of curiosity into the building. While students weren’t let in on the themes ahead of time, they spent the week trying to crack the code of our daily outfits and energy. Spoiler alert: they had just as much fun guessing as we did participating!
Here’s what we were up to:
🧥 Monday: Flannel Day – cozy vibes and plaid galore
🕶️ Tuesday: Secret Service – sunglasses, earpieces, and serious (but silly) security style
💪 Wednesday: Workout Day – sweatbands, sneakers, and 80s aerobics flair
🥤 Thursday: Anything But a Cup – the staff got creative with their “drinkware” choices!
🎄 Friday: Favorite Holiday – from Halloween to the Fourth of July, we celebrated them all
The goal? To boost morale, spark joy, and give our students something unexpected to smile about. And we’re happy to report—it worked!
