The PTA will host a playdate to coincide with Enrollment Saturday at the swing space to welcome new families. The PTA would love to have returning families join us as well to help welcome them. We will have light refreshments, and also will be giving building tours and selling school swag.

Join Hill Family Biking this Saturday, April 26, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. to celebrate its 2nd Birthday! The ride will celebrate the new protected bike lanes on Florida Ave NE and honor Dave Salovesh, a DC bike advocate who passed six years ago after being struck by a driver on Florida Ave. The ride starts at 12th St NE and K St NE and ends at Lincoln Park with FREE pizza, cupcakes, face painting, Nolan the Magician, and more! Come celebrate biking, community, and safety with us!

Organized annually by the J.O. Wilson Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Cardinal Auction Night celebrates our school's achievements and raises funds for the upcoming academic year. We warmly invite you to join us for an evening filled with excitement, camaraderie, and philanthropy to benefit the Cardinal community. Tickets are on sale now! Each auction ticket includes dinner and drinks. **Venue capacity is limited so purchase your ticket(s) today!**

Early-bird rate: $30/person, extended through Friday, April 25

Regular pricing: $45/person, April 26-May 1

Day-of pricing: $50/person (if capacity allows)

Teacher/Staff: $25 for 2 (or $12.50/person)

**FREE CHILDCARE -- for current J.O. Wilson students only -- will be offered. Childcare will be provided by J.O. Wilson staff at Pilgrim Baptist Church from 5:30-10 p.m. Pizza and snacks will be provided. Space is limited to 30 students. This event is one of the PTA’s biggest fundraisers of the year and we rely heavily on volunteers to make the evening a success. To learn how you can get involved with planning, please email info@jowilsonpta.org. You can also sign-up to help with set-up and logistics at the event.

We would also love help spreading the word about the auction itself, if you could share the link with extended family, neighbors, church networks or others who might be interested in bidding on restaurant gift cards, summer camp sessions, gym memberships and more.

At our May meeting, we will hold PTA Board elections. Per our Bylaws, in odd years, we hold elections for the following positions:

• President

• 1st Vice President

• Assistant Treasurer

• Assistant Secretary

• Fundraising Director

• Membership Director

• Assistant Membership Director

These positions each have a two-year term. Any J.O. Wilson parent, grandparent, guardian, or staff member is eligible to be nominated for these positions.

Additionally, we will hold elections for LSAT parent representatives (4 openings) and W6PSPO representatives (2 openings), each of which have a one-year term.

We are looking for parents, family members, and community professionals to share their careers and experiences with our students. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire the next generation and help them explore different career paths.
