Groundbreaking News in Mukwonago
Mukwonago High School’s Building Trades course will be helping construct the iconic Kiwanis barn! Once completed, the new barn will serve as a concession barn for future events at Phantom Junction Stage at Indianhead Park.
Our MHS Building Trades class is proud to partner with the Village of Mukwonago and Level Up Construction to bring this project to life! This is an incredible opportunity for our students to apply their classroom learning to a real-world construction project that will become a lasting part of our community.
A special thank you to Eli S. and Alec W., our Building Trades students who attended the groundbreaking and helped celebrate the start of this exciting project! We can’t wait to see this project take shape!
Mukwonago High School Youth Apprenticeship Program
Over 100 students registered for a youth apprenticeship opportunity this summer! Together, these students have already completed more than 5,000 hours of on-the-job training and learning with local employers in June, July, and August.
Through these experiences, students are gaining real-world skills, professional mentoring, and hands-on experience in career fields that interest them. These opportunities allow students to apply what they are learning in the classroom to authentic workplace experiences while building confidence, connections, and valuable skills for their futures.
Mukwonago is proud to partner with local businesses and organizations to provide meaningful career-connected learning experiences, support local workforce needs, and build a strong talent pipeline for our community.

These credentials give students a valuable head start as they enter college, technical education, the workforce, and their future careers.
Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation - National Accreditation
In May, our Automotive Program completed a two-day evaluation as part of the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation accreditation process. During this evaluation, we presented a portfolio demonstrating how we meet all 12 ASE standards, including advisory meetings, tools and equipment, instruction, work-based learning, and more.
We are proud to share that our program has officially earned ASE Accreditation in Maintenance and Light Repair, meeting strict industry standards. We are one of only 14 secondary schools in Wisconsin with this national recognition.
A huge shoutout to Mr. Ruff for his leadership and dedication throughout this process, and to our Automotive students for showcasing their skills and professionalism during the evaluation.
Special thank you to our industry partners, who served on the evaluation team and reviewed our program standards: Nick Bruss (Village Automotive), Justin Hoffmann (Kunes), Scott Hansen (Lynch), and Thomas Laurie (Nissan), as well as ASE Evaluation Team Leader Thomas Straiker for their support.
Summer CNA Program through Gateway Technical College
Congratulations to our Mukwonago Area School District high school students who spent part of their summer completing a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course through Gateway Technical College! In addition to classroom learning, students participated in hands-on clinical experiences that allowed them to apply their healthcare skills in a real-world setting. These students are working toward an industry-recognized credential while exploring future careers in nursing and other health science professions. We are proud of their dedication and commitment to investing in their futures!
The Academy of Medical Professions continues to expand opportunities for students interested in healthcare careers! This year, we are excited to partner with the Waukesha Business Alliance to bring a new Schools2Skills healthcare focused field trip to our students in November. This experience will give students the opportunity to explore healthcare careers and connect with professionals in the field.
Our juniors will visit Carroll University to explore healthcare education and career pathways, while our seniors will become vision screening certified and put their skills into practice by helping conduct vision screenings at local elementary schools.
Interested students will have the opportunity to apply for the Academy beginning in February. The Academy provides students with meaningful experiences, industry connections, certifications, and hands on learning that help them explore and prepare for future careers in healthcare!
Mukwonago Education & Teaching Academy and MASD Summer Adventures
META Students Gain Real-World Teaching Experience
For the first time, Mukwonago Education & Teaching Academy (META) students supported teachers and students during Summer Adventures! This partnership provided META students with valuable, real-world classroom experience while giving Summer Adventures students additional support and mentorship. The feedback from students, META participants, and summer school teachers was overwhelmingly positive! We are excited to continue this partnership and provide more opportunities for our future educators to gain hands-on teaching experience while still in high school. Mukwonago is committed to growing our own educators!
Mukwonago Education & Teaching Academy
Interested in a future career in education? The Mukwonago Education & Teaching Academy (META) gives students opportunities to explore the teaching profession, connect with educators, and gain real world experience in the field of education.
Through META, students will have opportunities for job shadow and field experiences throughout the Mukwonago Area School District. Students will also attend the UW Milwaukee Future Educator Summit this fall, and visit Carroll University in the spring to explore education pathways and opportunities.
Fall interviews will be held on September 23, 2026, for students interested in joining the Academy! This is a great opportunity for students to take the first step toward exploring a rewarding career in education and making a difference in the lives of others.

Robotics: Team 930
The Mukwonago High School robotics program, Team 930, brings students grades 4-12 together from across Southeastern Wisconsin for a fun and unique STEM experience. We have two robotics programs for each level, including FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), and FIRST Lego League program (FLL). The FRC program is a competitive experience designed for high school students to grow their skills in STEM, business, and strategy. FLL, meanwhile, embraces the competitive nature of the high school level competitions and made for younger students, teaching them major skills utilized in robotics.
Team 930 is composed of high school students, coached by adult mentors from various companies across Wisconsin. We meet year round; in the summer and fall, students will learn in the various sub-teams Team 930 has to offer such as: Electromechanical, Programming, Business, Strategy, and FIRST Impact. We also run several community outreach events, visit sponsors, and attend offseason events.
Once we kick off the competition season in January, we will receive the new game challenge. The team then focuses on building a robot and preparing to compete at events around the state in March and April. If the team performs well, we can qualify for the State Championship, and even advance to the World Championship in Texas. Team 930 has been one of the top teams in Wisconsin for several years, and is looking to continue that excellence with new students joining the program.
