Wow! I can't believe the end of the school year is just around the corner. It has been a fantastic year filled with laughter, learning, and tons of fun. Thank you for making my first year as Principal so special. I am truly grateful for our amazing students and families. I hope you have a wonderful and safe summer. #LuckyME

UPDATED 2023-2024 Sherwood School District Calendar

The Sherwood School Board has adopted a Revised 23-24 District Calendar. Revisions include starting the school year one day earlier than previously posted. The first day of school for grades 1-5, 6, and 9 is now August 30th. The first day of school for grades 7-8 and 10-12 is August 31st. STEM Camp for 3rd - 5th Graders

Each elementary school will host a summer STEM camp for our incoming 3rd-5th grade students. This two day camp will take place on July 11th & 12th from 8am-11am. It will be held at your child’s elementary school and taught by the school’s STEM teachers.

Due to the popularity of this camp and the capacity limitation of 26 students per location, a lottery drawing will be held to determine which students will be offered a spot. If your family is interested, please complete this interest form to enter your child into the lottery. A separate form must be completed for each student who is interested in participating.

There is no cost for STEM Camp. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide district transportation.

STEM Camp for Current Kindergarten and 1st Graders- Registration Opens Soon

Sherwood School District will host a 1-day STEM Camp at each of the elementary schools. The camp will run from 8am-11am on July 13th. More information and registration details can be found here.

Moving to the Middle- Registration Now Open for Current 5th Graders

Sherwood School District is pleased to offer the popular 4-day Moving to the Middle transition class for incoming 6th graders who will be attending Sherwood Middle School in the fall. More information and registration details can be found here.

Character Traits

This past school year we covered Friendship, Empathy, Thankfulness, Responsibility, Community, Courage, Generosity and Mentorship. Thank you to all the Middleton Community who came together to be examples of these qualities! Thank you to all the Middleton News Cast and Reporters for your time and willingness to be leaders for the school and have fun with it! Have a wonderful summer and go spread our Character Traits!

Yearbooks

Yearbooks can still be customized and ordered at any time, but will not ship to school with the bulk order. They will ship it to your home for $5.99 + the cost of the book. Please make note that choosing rush shipping will not guarantee the book will arrive by the end of the school year. For more information, check out this flyer.

We are excited to continue our partnership with EPI (Educational Products, Inc.) for providing our 2023-2024 school supply packs! You may contact Kelli Gladheim at gladheimkk@gmail.com with any questions. Order deadline is June 18th.

Kindergarten Registration

Registration for our incoming Kindergarten class is available online using the link below. Incoming Kindergarten students must turn 5 prior to September 1. Registering early helps the school and district start planning for the fall.

Online Kindergarten Registration

During online registration, new families will create a Sherwood ParentVUE account. Parents of current and former Sherwood students will log in with their existing ParentVUE account. Please call the Middleton front office at 503-825-5300 if you have any questions.

Paper Registration

Families are also welcome to register using paper registration. Paper registration packets can be picked up from the Middleton front office.

June Kindergarten Newsletter

The June Kindergarten Newsletter is a special edition newsletter for any families with an incoming Kindergarten student that will be joining us next year. This newsletter provides important information about registration and the first days of school. Please feel free to share the Kinder newsletter with any families with a Kindergarten age child who may not have heard about Kindergarten registration.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration for 2023-24

Pre-Kindergarten applications are open at Hawks View, Middleton, and Ridges! Our programs provide high quality early learning opportunities for typically developing children and children with developmental delays and disabilities.

Volunteering

You can submit your background check for next school year beginning July 1, 2023.

Background checks are completed online: Background Check Forms. Background checks may take up to 10 days to process.
Proof of vaccination are submitted to the Middleton front office in person or via email (mwunnicke@sherwood.k12.or.us). This can be done on the first day of volunteering. Vaccination exception forms, if needed, can be found here: Medical Exception Request or Religious Exception Request. Completed exception forms are emailed to Steve Emmert at semmert@sherwood.k12.or.us. Exceptions may take up to 14 days to process.
