Dismissal Procedures

Dear Boulevard Families,

We are asking for your cooperation with our car rider and van pickup procedures to ensure that dismissal is safe, orderly, and efficient for all students. Our parking lot can become very congested during dismissal, so we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work as safely and efficiently as possible to make sure your child is safe.

If your child is designated as a car rider, please remain in your vehicle and drive through the car rider line to pick up your child. Students will not be released to adults who walk up to the car rider line or flag their child to come to them.

When adults walk up to the car rider line to pick up students, it creates an unsafe situation. The staff members responsible for dismissal cannot always clearly identify who is authorized to pick up a student. This makes it difficult for us to maintain accurate supervision and ensure the safety of every child.

Please help us by following these expectations:

• Remain in your vehicle while waiting in the car rider line.
• Drive through the designated car rider line to pick up your child.
• Allow staff members to safely call and release your child to your vehicle.
• Do not walk up to the car rider line or call/flag your child to leave the line.
• Please be patient as staff members work to safely release students.

If we are unable to safely manage the car rider pickup line because these procedures are not being followed, the car rider line will not be available as an option. Parent gym pick up, walkers and bus/van transportation will continue to remain available options for families.

We would like to avoid making this change, but we need everyone's cooperation to ensure that our current car rider dismissal system remains safe and manageable.
