It was wonderful to see so many of our families at the Back to School Event a few weeks ago. A fun time was had by all! Please enjoy a few photos from the event below. A huge thank you goes out to the planning team from the PTO - they really put on an amazing event for our families.

It is hard to believe we are already settled in to our fourth week of school. We have already accomplished so much; solidifying routines, making new friends, learning new skills, etc. All of us are looking forward to what September brings (especially the cooler weather!)

Please keep in mind that elementary students should not be utilizing the texting or calling features of a smart watch during the school day. During the past few weeks, we have had an uptick of students utilizing their smart watch features during the day. This has included parents texting their children during school hours. These devices fall under LZ School Board policy.

7:190 Student Behavior

Using or possessing an electronic paging device. Using a cellular telephone, video recording device, personal digital assistant (PDA), or other electronic device in any manner that disrupts the educational environment or violates the rights of others, including using the device to take photographs in locker rooms or bathrooms, cheat, or otherwise violate student conduct rules. Prohibited conduct specifically includes, without limitation, creating, sending, sharing, viewing, receiving, or possessing an indecent visual depiction of oneself or another person through the use of a computer, electronic communication device, or cellular phone. Unless otherwise banned under this policy or by the Building Principal, all electronic devices must be kept powered-off or silenced during the regular school day unless: (a) the supervising teacher grants permission; (b) use of the device is provided in a student's individualized education program (IEP); (c) it is used during the student's lunch period, or (d) it is needed in an emergency that threatens the safety of students, staff, or other individuals.

Special Guest Staff Servers will be attending so be sure to come out and visit some of the staff!!

10% of all purchases during that time will be donated to the PTO.

Calling all Spencer Loomis Families: The PTO is looking for some ghoulish Chairs to help plan our annual Trunk or Treat Event. Ask Friends! Please consider helping so we don’t have to potentially cancel the event. Please reach out for more information if interested.

Room Parent Sign-ups are open on the PTBoard app until the end of the day on Wednesday. September 6. Room parents will serve as the dedicated Room Parent for your child’s classroom for the entire 2023-2024 School Year. Responsibilities include lead planning on the holiday parties and serving as a liaison between the PTO and parents. Room Parents will be selected at random and notified the first week of September.

We want to continue to improve our ability to communicate with parents about upcoming events and have all of our information in one easy to access place. We know it can be hard to sift through e-mails, newsletters, and social media posts so we wanted to have a spot where parents can find calendars, sign ups, and other information from your phone or computer.
