Hi Eagle Families,

We had an amazing week! I am so very impressed with all the talent that we have in our student body. It is so humbling to be able to lead a school with such dedicated staff and bright students.

We showcased our first musical ever at Flossmoor Hills under the direction of Mr. Daniel Burke and Ms. Jean Davis. This production of Toy Camp was absolutely outstanding! Thank you to our directors, parents, staff and students for making Flossmoor Hills shine this week.

The Showtime Steppers performed in the Flossmoor Baseball Softball Opening Day Parade on Saturday! The team was excited and did not disappoint! Thank you to Coach Denise Roberts Smith and Coach Mikyla Cameron for all your dedication with our steppers! Thank you to the village of Flossmoor for inviting us to participate.

We are almost at the testing finish line. We have completed IAR and ISA state testing! We are proud of our students for doing their very best!

We will begin spring NWEA testing this week for grades 1-5. The NWEA measures individual student growth over the course of the year. Please talk with your child about staying focused and doing their best.

Finally, we will begin our all school book reading of The Lemonade War this week! Our school has been transformed into a lemonade stand as we prepare to engage in this book. We look forward to all the fun and learning that will come from reading!

The end of the year countdown begins on Wednesday, April 24th!

The last day to qualify for prizes is Tuesday, April 23, 2024 ! There is still time to sign up!

You may now access your skyward account and register your child online for next school year! If your child will enter 3rd or 6th grade you will need to prove residency in addition to registering online.

If you need help accessing your skyward account, call the main office at 708-647-7100.

If you DO NOT register before the end of the school year, your student will not be guaranteed a spot at Flossmoor Hills School.

The first two 2nd grade and 5th grade classes that register online and prove residency will receive an after school PIZZA party!

Please help keep our students safe by observing the traffic signs and patterns around the school. There is NO PARKING on the east side of the street during school hours. This helps to ensure that the buses can pass down the street safely without causing damage to cars and that our students can safely cross the street. Additionally, please do not double park your car. This creates traffic congestion along the street.

Additionally, cell phone usage is prohibited while driving in a school zone.

Monthly attendance letters will be sent home for children that miss two or more days unexcused.

If your child will not be in attendance please call the school's absence line at 708-709-7699 ext. 2053. This line is available for messages 24 hours a day. Call the school office at 708-647-7100 if calling after 8:30 a.m. on the day of the absence.

Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. Students eating breakfast should enter the main entry doors (Door A) upon arrival to school.

• Kindergarten and 5th Grade - 11:30 a.m. - recess begins at 11:50 a.m.
• 1st Grade and 3rd Grade - 12:10 p.m. - recess begins at 12:30 p.m.
• 2nd Grade and 4th Grade - 11:50 a.m. - recess begins at 12:10 p.m.

If you need to drop off lunch to your student after the school day has started, you may utilize the grade level bins on the cart in the foyer. Please label your child's lunch bag.

Reminder: Lunches sent to the school by food delivery services such as Uber Eats, GrubHub, DoorDash, etc. are not allowed.

Log into your child's Skyward account to load money to purchase breakfast and lunch. Please check your child's account regularly.

If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday in school, please send non edible items to share (i.e., pencils, bubbles, stickers, etc.). We cannot allow students to share outside food/treats in school.

The Fun Run event will take place at Flossmoor Hills Elementary School on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.. This is an all school event where students will run, dance, play, win and more. This is a family friendly event and parents are welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed please sign up here.

Are you available to volunteer? Monthly students look forward to the Eagle Cart stopping by their classroom. Volunteers will go around to each classroom with the cart and collect Eagle Bucks as the students shop.

As a reminder all volunteers must have a state issued ID scanned to participate.
