Thoughts from Dr. Cohen
A Week of Winter Cheer! Can you believe it is already Winter Break???
Get ready, everyone! This is our final week before Winter Break, and the halls are buzzing with festive energy. We encourage all our students to finish the first semester strong by staying focused on their classes, participating in our fun end-of-year activities, and keeping up their excellent attendance.
We're so proud of everything our students and staff have accomplished this year. Let's make this last week the best one yet! Remember, it is a four day week!
A word from Mr. Rude
Although the Holiday season can be a joyous time filled with celebrations and joy, they can also bring unique challenges for students and families facing mental health struggles. It is important to prioritize your mental well being and safety over this holiday break and to seek professional support when needed. If you or a loved one are needing professional mental health support you can contact the Colorado Crisis Services at coloradocrisisservices.org or by calling 988.

Winter Concert
What a huge success our 2nd Winter concert was. A huge thanks to Mr. Wallace for all the blood, sweat and tears it to pull this together. Also a huge shout-out to our Harmony singers and musicians! Without you, your hard work and your talent, none of this is possible.

Immunization Compliance Notice
A letter was sent home in backpacks on Thursday, December 11 with students who are not compliant with Colorado immunization requirements. Only those students who are missing required vaccines or immunization records received this letter.
If you believe this notice was sent in error, you must provide updated immunization records by email (montiveros@aurorak12.org) or fax (303-326-2187) as soon as possible.
With winter break coming up, this is a good opportunity to schedule any needed appointments to get your student caught up on required immunizations.
APS is hosting 4 clinics this Tuesday, December 16th. See the flyers for details!
Why get a flu shot?
Influenza, or the flu, is a serious and highly contagious respiratory illness that affects millions of people every year.
Getting your annual flu shot is the single best way to protect yourself and your community for the following reasons:
Prevent Severe Illness: Even if you do catch the flu after being vaccinated, the shot is proven to significantly reduce the severity and duration of your symptoms, dramatically lowering your risk of hospitalization, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, and flu-related death.
Protect Vulnerable Loved Ones: Vaccination creates a "shield" for those around you who are at high risk for serious complications, including infants, the elderly, pregnant individuals, and those with chronic medical conditions.
Prevent Spread: The flu is contagious before symptoms even appear. By getting vaccinated, you help reduce the overall spread of the virus throughout the community, helping to keep schools and workplaces running smoothly.
