Gateway Gator Gazette

πWeek of October 26-30 , 2026π
The Gist with Mr. G
Gateway Families,
What a special week it has been at Gateway! I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and encouragement shown to me during National Principals' Month. From our Gators dressing up to the sweet cards, thoughtful messages, and smiles shared throughout the week, you all made me feel incredibly appreciated! It was especially meaningful to see the creativity and excitement our students brought to the celebration. Serving as principal of Gateway is truly an honor, and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to lead and serve such an amazing school family. Thank you for making this week so special!
I also want to extend a sincere thank you to our families for making time to participate in Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. We recognize that schedules are busy and that finding time to meet during the school day or evening often requires extra effort. Your willingness to prioritize these conversations speaks volumes about your commitment to your child's education. These meetings are such an important opportunity to celebrate successes, discuss areas for growth, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. When teachers and families work together with a shared commitment to each child's success, incredible things can happen!
As we begin the second quarter, I am excited about the learning and growth ahead! Our Gators have worked hard to establish routines, build relationships, and develop a strong foundation during the first nine weeks. Now, we have an opportunity to build on that momentum, set new goals, and continue challenging every student to reach their full potential. I encourage you to celebrate your child's progress, talk together about goals for the coming weeks, and continue encouraging their best efforts each day.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Gateway family. The positive energy, strong relationships, and shared commitment to our students are what make this community so special. I am incredibly grateful for your continued partnership and look forward to all we will accomplish together this quarter!
Mr. Gambrell
Principal

π― On-Task: 763 points
π Prepared: 312 points
πͺ Motivated: 175 points
β€οΈ Caring: 140 points
π¬ Honest: 45 points
π Our CHOMP Challenge: Stay Motivated & Show You Care!
With all the excitement of Red Ribbon Week and Halloween celebrations, this is a great opportunity for our Gators to practice being Motivated and Caring, even when there are extra fun activities and distractions!
πͺ M β Motivated: We can enjoy the excitement of special events while still giving our best effort in the classroom! Motivated Gators stay focused on their goals, keep trying when learning gets challenging, and take pride in doing their bestβeven when they're looking forward to something fun!
β€οΈ C β Caring: Celebrations are even better when everyone feels included! Caring Gators look for ways to include others, show kindness, respect differences, and help make special events enjoyable for everyone.
π Keep the CHOMP Conversation Going at Home!
Families, help your Gator think about how they can demonstrate these behaviors during an exciting week! Try asking:
How can you enjoy all the fun of Red Ribbon Week and Halloween while still giving your best effort during learning time?
What could you do to help a classmate feel included during a special activity or celebration?
When you're excited or distracted, what can you do to remind yourself to stay motivated and finish your work?
How can you show kindness and respect to classmates who may celebrate differently or enjoy different activities?
Let's make this a week filled with fun, kindness, hard work, and positive choices! Thank you, families, for helping our Gators put CHOMP into action as we continue Moving Mountains together! πβ°οΈ
