π SOAR Program Accepting Applicants for 2026-2027
Beginning in the 2026β2027 school year, Argyle ISD will offer high school students a new instructional option through the districtβs Online Learning Pathway, known as SOAR (Student Option for Academic Readiness).
SOAR provides a fully online learning model for students entering grades 9β12 who are seeking greater flexibility while remaining enrolled in Argyle ISD. A hybrid option will also be available, allowing students to combine online coursework with select on-campus opportunities.
SOAR is not an open-enrollment program. Students must meet specific eligibility requirements, including:
- Enrollment in grades 9β12 for the 2026β2027 school year
- Residence within Argyle ISD attendance boundaries
- Compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, including enrollment in a public school for at least six weeks during the current or previous school year
Due to the independence and time management skills required for virtual learning, participation is subject to eligibility criteria and district approval.
For additional information including the introductory SOAR webinar, visit www.argyleisd.com/SOAR.
π April Fool's Message: New Logo at AISD Stadium
ICYMI: Argyle ISD shared this fun April Fool's Facebook post on April 1! Special thanks to Mr. Slaton for being part of the joke!
Argyle ISD is proud to share an exciting addition to our amazing new stadium that celebrates both our communityβs traditions and the unique history that makes Argyle such a special place.
As a tribute to Argyle's rich history and a nod to a well-known part of our local legacy, the district will introduce a new permanent midfield feature honoring βTom the Turkey.β
βI have had the honor of serving this district for the last nine years, and I feel itβs important to leave your mark on the district,β Argyle ISD Board President Sam Slaton said. βThere have been many that have impacted this district, no one more than the late Tom the Turkey. I am thrilled to announce that our famous turkey will be the new midfield logo at Argyle ISD Stadium.β
βTomβ or "George" will be featured as a symbol of pride, perseverance, and a little bit of fun, reminding everyone who visits the stadium that our community never forgets where it came from while continuing to soar toward the future. It also represents the colors of both high schools - red & black from AHS and red & royal blue from the new Legacy High School.
We look forward to everyone seeing this new centerpiece at the 50-yard line at AHS in Canyon Falls...and if you're ready to email the School Board & Superintendent, double-check today's date.

π Argyle ISD Long-Range Planning Information & Resources
During Monday's School Board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Courtney Carpenter shared an update on enrollment trends, facility capacity, and future campus reconfigurations. This was informational only, and no decisions have been made. The district is considering long-range solutions to campus reconfigurations, zoning, feeder patterns, and future space needs to address growth and make the most effective use of AISD facilities.
Potential approach being considered
Adjust grade-level groupings in both zones into an Elementary/Intermediate/Middle/High structure by adjusting the grade configurations of our facilities.
To address this, the district is exploring a potential reconfiguration shift to better balance enrollment across campuses and reduce the need for future rezoning or additional bond programs.
What are the key benefits of this plan?
Maximizes use of current and future facilities & space
Avoids elementary rezoning in the near term
Staffing and programs & how they serve students
What are the next steps?
April 8, 2026 - School Board Special Meeting & Budget Workshop - Discussion & Consider Action
April 20, 2026 - If Needed - School Board Regular Meeting - Discussion & Consider Action (deadline)
If you would like to share your thoughts/feedback on long-range planning in Argyle ISD, please use our Just Ask Argyle portal.
