A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill

November 9, 2025

Dear Coyote Community,

I hope this rainy Sunday finds you well and staying warm. Bundle up—our weather teams are forecasting a chilly start to the week, and I, for one, am not quite ready for freezing temperatures! On a personal note, I’m looking forward to returning to school after four days of sick leave battling a tough virus. Please take care of yourselves—some of these germs are no joke!

I’d like to highlight that next week’s PTSA meeting has been canceled to allow all families and students the opportunity to attend the MCPS Boundary and Programs Analysis Community Engagement Event hosted at CHS on November 18 at 7:00 p.m. Whether you are new to Clarksburg or preparing to graduate, your perspectives are invaluable to these important discussions. Even if you can only stop by for part of the evening, I encourage you to attend and lend your voice.

Mr. Tanveer and I will host our next Fireside Chat on Wednesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center. This will be a great opportunity to connect and reflect together before Winter Break.

Please take a moment to review this week’s updates, which include important information about winter sports registration, the caregiver survey, and access to our Clarksburg Cares pantry resources. And don’t miss our celebrations—our athletic teams were absolutely outstanding this weekend!

It continues to be an honor and a joy to serve the Clarksburg High School community. Thank you for your continued partnership in making CHS a place where scholarship, leadership, and relationships thrive.

Warmly,
Ms. O’Neill

Boundary/Programs Analysis Community Meeting . . . Please Attend

MCPS will hold a boundary study and programs analysis community engagement session at Clarksburg HS on November 18 @ 7p.m. This is an important opportunity for the Boyds, Clarksburg, Damascus, Germantown, and Poolesville communities to learn, ask questions, and share your voices. These proposed changes will have broad impacts on where students attend school. All are encouraged to come to the engagement session. Spanish interpretation and American Sign Language support will be available.

Share Your Experience!

We want to learn more about your family's experience in our schools. Your voice matters and helps us understand how students and families experience teaching, learning, and the school environment. Please take about 10 minutes to complete this caregiver survey.

Why is your feedback important?

It helps us:

  • Better understand the experiences of students and families,

  • Recognize what’s working well and where support may be needed,

  • Ensure schools are welcoming, respectful, and inclusive for all.

Will anyone at the school know who filled out the survey?

  • No. Your responses are confidential.

How will the responses be used?

  • School and district leaders will review the feedback to understand family and student experiences and inform planning and decision-making for the upcoming school year.
