Bridlemile Arrival and Dismissal

Please plan to arrive in time for doors that open at 7:52am. Class starts promptly at 8:00am.

There will be one staff member who stays at the doors until 8am. At that time, the covered back playground doors will be locked. Students coming after 8am will need to go to the main front doors to be checked in.

• Kindergarten through 5th grade students line up by grade and class under the covered play area. Teachers will come outside at 7:52am to pick up their students to take them to class.

• Students dropped off at the car line on 47th Dr. make their way through the garden to the covered play area to be met by their teacher at 7:52am.

• Students dropped off at Hamilton park make their way down the steps to the covered play area.

• Students taking the school bus will make their way down the steps to the covered play area.

IMPORTANT: On August 21st, you will receive your student's class placement letter which will include a link to a Google form to submit your child's dismissal plan for the year. All families must submit a dismissal plan for each of their children. Dismissal plans are due by 10am Monday, August 24th.

If you are walking up to pick up your child:

• Parents/caregivers will pick up their child from the covered play area.

If you are driving through to pick up your child from school:

• Student unloading/loading zone is 3-4 cars long. Please pull up all the way to the first drop off sign.

• Cars leaving the unloading/loading zone will need to yield and merge with traffic.

• If you are driving eastbound on 47th please be mindful of cars merging from the drop off/pick up area.

• We ask that once students are picked up, that parents/caregivers either proceed on 47th Dr. OR make a left turn up 45th Ave. to depart. As always, no U-turns.

If your child attends Champions:

• Champions staff will pick up kindergarten and first grade students from their classrooms and make their way to the cafeteria.
• 2nd through 5th grade students will make their way to the cafeteria independantly to check in with Champions staff.

If you are sending your child home via the bus:

• Kindergarten students are escorted by a kindergarten teacher from their classroom to the buses.

• Students grades 1st-5th line up on the back playground and board the bus with the help of designated teachers on duty.

If you are driving on 47th Dr. to drop off or pick up your child by the stairs on the side of the school:

• Student unloading/loading zone is 3-4 cars long. Please pull up all the way to the first drop off sign.

• If you are driving eastbound on 47th please be mindful of cars merging from the drop off/pick up area.

If you are driving to school and PARKING to walk with your student:

• Please observe all posted traffic signs and be courteous of our neighbors. Please do not block mailboxes, driveways, and please do not park on the yellow zone of street corners.

• If you are parking along 47th Dr., please be mindful of your open car door so drivers can make their way around you safely.

If you would like your child to ride the bus to or from school, first start by taking a look at Bridlemile's bus routes and stops. You can find this information on the PPS Transportation website.

If you plan to have your student take the bus to school, be at the designated stop address at the time listed and the school bus driver will drive your child to school.

If you plan to have your student take the bus home from school, indicate this in your child's dismissal plan. You will be asked to submit a dismissal plan via a Google form linked in your class placement letter next week.

All bus riders wear a bus tag created for them by Bridlemile school. On the first day of school, teachers will assist students in attaching bus tags to student’s backpacks/coats.

1st-3rd grade students wear a white bus tag to let bus drivers know the student’s correct stop. Students wearing a white bus tag are not required to be met by a parent/caregiver. If families prefer to require that their 1st-3rd graders be met by an adult at the bus stop they can request a yellow bus tag by emailing the Bridlemile Office at bridlemile-office@pps.net.
