FUN RUN UPDATE FUN RUN UPDATE

We are super excited to announce that not only did we meet the school goal for the fundraiser, but we also doubled it by raising $45,413!

The LED lights are being sent home today. Please check your student's backpack.

Important: The pop-its and slap bands will be passed out when they arrive.

Thank you again for all of your support in making our fundraiser so successful and thank you to the many volunteers who dedicated their time organizing, setting up, and running the event.

SPIRIT WEAR DELIVERY COMING SOON! SPIRIT WEAR DELIVERY COMING SOON!

We are excited to provide you with an update on the status of your Spirit Wear orders. We spoke with our vendor earlier this week: Products have ARRIVED to our vendor. He and his staff are diligently working to transfer this year's logos onto the Spirit Wear items.

We are thinking that his work will be completed by the end of this week. If all goes as planned, our PTO will work to distribute your orders the week of MEA Fall Break!? We will let you know of any potential delays, but we fully expect to have Spirit Wear delivered to you before the end of the month.

We truly thank you for your patience and your support!

Sincerely,

The MES PTO Board

A VISIT FROM A SOLDIER A VISIT FROM A SOLDIER

Riley Erickson, a former Mora High School graduate and former student in Ms. Koep's 1st and 2nd grade classes, paid Ms. Koep's current 1st graders a visit. He read them a story and talked with them about his current role in the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Morning Routine-doors open at 7:50 AM

On Tuesday, Oct 5th, we began opening the main sidewalk door at 7:50 am.

Students choosing breakfast are to go to the tables to the left. Non-breakfast kids will sit at the tables on the right side of the cafeteria.

The students are dismissed at 8:00 am to go to their classrooms. Students eating breakfast can continue eating at their table until they are finished or if it is after 8:00 am they can take their breakfast to the classroom as they have already been doing.

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS

HOW TO APPLY FOR EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS LETTER
Please consider filling out an Application for Educational Benefits. While meals are free for all families this school year, the information from these forms has a DIRECT impact on school funding. What this means is that with fewer people completing the form, the school will actually receive less funding in the coming years. This could result in programs offered to students, teachers unable to qualify for grants, staffing reductions, or the district having to make other difficult budget decisions. Please complete the form by October 15th.
Application Form
WITH AN APPROVED APPLICATION...
1. Your family may qualify to receive benefits through the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program. This program gives hundreds of dollars to qualifying families (on an ebt card) to spend at the grocery store!
2. Your family may qualify for reduced/waived school fees, such as Tech Fee, Field Trip Fees, and others.
3. Your student(s) may qualify for free or reduced tuition at some post-secondary schools
4. Approved applications help the school qualify for education funds and discounts.
5. Families with approved applications receive reduced admissions to the Science Museum, MN Children's Museum and numerous MN Historical Society Exhibits across the entire state of Minnesota.
6. Teachers can qualify for special funds/grants to use in their classrooms
7. Title I and special event nights like Family Reading Night can continue.
