Class Placement
We want to take a moment to share information about our class placement process. Please know that much thought and consideration goes into making these decisions. Our goal is to ensure that placements are made based on each student's academic needs, available services, and overall classroom dynamics.
As part of this process, we do not accept specific teacher requests. We appreciate your understanding and trust in our approach to creating balanced and supportive learning environments for all students.
If you have any concerns regarding your child’s academic needs, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your partnership in supporting student success.
Student Spotlight
Preston Weisman recently competed in a district-level bowling tournament involving participants from 22 counties, where he achieved 1st place in his age group. His performance awarded him college scholarship funds and qualified him for the State tournament scheduled for May in Columbus. Congratulations to Preston on this accomplishment!
Thank You
On behalf of Mrs. Jenkins' classroom a big thank you to everyone at Troy who helped support this year's Friendship APL drive! We dropped off donations at the animal shelter today along with Ms. Tomlin's classroom from the high school. Mr. Wiley, the director of FAPL, was extremely appreciative for everything.
Thank you for all of your support of our programs and initiatives!
OST Infomation
Troy 5th grade students will be taking their science state tests this week.
· Make sure your child has a good night's sleep. This piece of advice is for your child's Chromebook, too. Please make sure it is fully charged if you take your device back and forth from school.
· Encourage your child to do their best, but assure them that their best will do!
· Feed your child a good breakfast.
· Hugs are good. Everyone likes a hug.
· Be sure your student has a pair of earbuds or headphones - for specific test questions, they will have the option to listen to a computerized voice read the selection.
· Tell them that you love them and that they are prepared.
Get them to school on time. We do not want anyone to feel rushed. Tests begin as early as 8:00 am.
Science part 1- April 14 (5th grade only)
Science part 2- April 15 (5th grade only)
Back to School Forms
Over the summer months you will receive an email notifying you to complete your student's back-to-school forms via your PowerSchool Parent Account. All forms are to be completed prior to the first day of school. This is a one-stop shop for updating your child’s emergency and medical information as well as signing off on the annual permission forms for school district policies.
If you have more than one child in the school system, you only need one PowerSchool Parent Account. All of your children, regardless of building attendance, are to be added to your one account BEFORE you start completing the back-to-school forms.
If you have any questions about your PowerSchool Parent Account, please contact:
- Maria Szarek - (440) 933-4829 or
- Theresa Martin - (440) 933-0984

Jail A Teacher Fundraiser
Troy Jail-A-Teacher!
One teacher from each Troy team has volunteered to confess their "crimes" (think silly things like singing too much) and be "jailed" during their team’s lunch period on Tuesday, April 15th. Students have the opportunity to donate cash during their lunch period April 9, 10, 11 and 14th to keep their teacher in jail for longer! Each $100 raised by each team keeps that teacher in jail another 5 minutes, up to the entire 25-minute lunch period. All proceeds will go to Troy PTA and the many programs PTA facilitates for students and staff members. The team to raise the most funds will win a popsicle party! Parent Volunteers are needed to help collect donations during the lunch periods.
