Exploring Weather with Mrs. Roman and Miss C.

Our kindergarten students in Mrs. Roman and Miss C.'s classroom have been busy becoming meteorologists! Through engaging lessons and hands-on learning, students have been exploring weather concepts and building their weather vocabulary.

Students learned important words such as temperature, thermometer, sunny, windy, rainy, and partly cloudy. While many of these are words our students have heard and used before, seeing them in print, understanding their meanings, and connecting them to real-world weather observations has been exciting new learning.

One of the most meaningful connections students made was learning how the temperature number on a thermometer relates to what it actually feels like outside. By observing daily weather conditions and discussing changes in the environment, students are developing both their vocabulary and scientific thinking skills.

We are so proud of the incredible work Mrs. Roman and Miss C. are doing to make learning meaningful and engaging. Most importantly, we are proud of our students for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and growth as they continue to explore the world around them!

First Grade Spotlight: Growing as Writers

Our first-grade students are making incredible progress as young authors! Every day, they are strengthening their writing skills by putting their thoughts and experiences into complete sentences.

Students are learning how to write about real-life experiences while practicing important writing habits such as leaving spaces between words, using correct punctuation, and forming complete sentences. These foundational skills are helping them communicate their ideas clearly and confidently.

What may seem like a simple sentence represents a tremendous amount of learning and growth. From remembering where spaces belong to ending a sentence with the appropriate punctuation mark, our students are developing skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.

We are so proud of our first-grade teachers for creating meaningful writing opportunities and helping students develop a love for writing. Most importantly, we are proud of our students for their hard work, perseverance, and growth as writers!
