Patriots on the Road! Patriots on the Road!

It's always great to run into a fellow Kendall Patriot where you least expect it! So fun running into the Pusateri family at the U of I game on Saturday supporting our favorite members of the Marching Illini Drumline!

Last week was Digital Citizenship Week! Last week was Digital Citizenship Week!

All grade levels have begun learning what it means to be a responsible digital citizen! These lessons will continue to be an important part of our LMC curriculum throughout the school year.

Through engaging picture books, literature, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will explore a variety of digital citizenship topics, including:

  • Media Literacy: Learning to think critically about the information we see and hear online.

  • Online Privacy & Safety: Understanding how to protect personal information and stay safe online.

  • Digital Footprints: Recognizing how our online actions can leave a lasting impact.

  • AI Literacy: Learning about artificial intelligence and how to use it responsibly.

  • Digital Well-Being: Developing healthy screen habits, managing digital distractions, and understanding how technology can affect our emotions and relationships.

Our digital citizenship curriculum is supported by Common Sense Media, which provides wonderful resources for both educators and families. I encourage you to explore their Family Engagement Resources for helpful tips and activities to support healthy technology habits at home.

By working together, we can help our students become safe, responsible, thoughtful, and kind digital citizens!

If you have any questions about digital citizenship or our LMC lessons, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warmly,
Mrs. Macek
Kendall LMC Director

TRUNK OR TREAT THANK YOU TRUNK OR TREAT THANK YOU

A huge thank you to everyone who made Friday’s Trunk-or-Treat such a success! A special shout-out to our amazing parent volunteers, trunk hosts, and everyone who donated candy — we couldn’t have done it without you! We’d also like to thank two wonderful local businesses for their support: Bach to Rock for keeping the party going with their DJ talents and Woof Gang for their generous candy donation.

Be sure to visit our Kendall PTA Facebook page to vote for your favorite trunk! The winner will be announced Friday, October 30th.

PRINCIPAL FOR A MORNING HIGHLIGHTS PRINCIPAL FOR A MORNING HIGHLIGHTS

A special shout out to our PTA membership contest winner, fourth grader William Bersin! He was a fantastic principal and assisted Mrs. Jerger with a number of important duties around the building. This is a fun tradition and one that we look forward to each year. Thank you to all of our Kendall families who have already joined the PTA and had their students entered to win!
