Yearbook order forms were distributed to students yesterday afternoon. Yearbooks are $18.00 and orders are due by Friday, February 28th. You can place your order online at https://sales.yearbookmarket.com/stores/hixsonmiddleschool/products/773?pidx=0 or your student can turn in their envelope with payment to Ms. Baker in the main office.
OPUS (Orchestra Parents United for Students), the parent booster organization for the WGSD middle and high school orchestras, is hosting a trivia night and silent auction to be held on February 1 at Shrewsbury Community Center. The event is a fundraiser for general orchestra program needs and orchestra trips. Details and a registration link are at

We started our argument unit this week. We are focusing on the topic: Schools should control students’ eating habits. We started gathering evidence from articles, videos, and infographics.

Science: Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver

Students this week prepared for and took their summative test over goals 1,2, and 3 in our cells unit. Looking forward we will start next week talking about viruses, bacteria, and their effect on the human body before diving into the different body systems.

Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt

Students are continuing to learn about the various forms of government. They are starting to analyze a world government of their choice in order to gain a deeper understanding of one of the main forms of government.
