Congratulations to the Sheridan Middle School Robotics teams for their outstanding performance at the Lake Village Winter tournament! Team "The Miners" took home FIRST placed in teamwork, while team YJ Stingers claimed SECOND in teamwork, FIRST place in skills, and the coveted "SPORTSMANSHIP" trophy. Both teams have now secured a spot in the Arkansas State competitions - way to go! And a big shoutout to the other three teams from Sheridan Middle School for their hard work and dedication. Thank you parents and Ms. McEuen for your dedication! Keep up the amazing work!

Everyone makes mistakes. Ask each family member to share a story about a time they made a mistake (at school, work, home, etc.) and discuss what lessons they learned. Share this quote: “Mistakes don’t define us, but how we respond to mistakes will.” Ask, “How can we show honor for each other, even when we make a mistake or disagree?” Process each person’s response and thank everyone for their willingness to share. Challenge each other to respond to mistakes this week with love and respect.

Congratulations to Sheridan Gymnastics! Their first-ever competition was a tremendous success, with both the middle school and high school teams earning victories in their inaugural meet against Monticello. Go Yellowjackets!

Each year the Women's foundation of Arkansas hosts the Girls of Promise Conference for 8th grade girls who may be interested in careers in STEM. Applications are due February 6th. Students will have the opportunity to work on their essays with Mrs. Dunn during RTI during the week of January 19th. Watch the video below for more information, and apply using the link below.

Friday morning, we celebrated student success in academics, character, attendance, and effort. We had a fantastic second nine weeks of school and we cannot wait to see all of the ways our students succeed this semester! More pictures to come.
