Wildcat Weekly- 11/24-12/5

Message from Principal Martinez πΎ
Dear Wildcat Families:
As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of our families. Thank you for your trust, partnership, and the many ways you support our school community each day. Your involvementβwhether through encouraging your child at home, attending school events, or collaborating with our staffβmakes a meaningful difference.
We are grateful for your children, who fill our campus with curiosity, kindness, and joy. Their growth inspires us, and we feel honored to be part of their learning journey.
During this holiday season, we hope you find time to rest, connect with loved ones, and enjoy moments of warmth and togetherness. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Farewell Message from our Counselor
Parents,
After 8 amazing years at Pomerado and 18 years in PUSD, I have made the difficult decision to move to Pennsylvania to be closer to my family.
This decision was a difficult one, but I know it's the best one for my family at this time. Pomerado is such a special place, and I am proud of the work we have done at our school. I will always cherish my time spent here in Poway and particularly at Pomerado.
Over the next several weeks, counseling will continue as usual until we leave for December break. I wanted our parent community to hear this news from me sooner rather than later to avoid any miscommunication. Mrs. Martinez will work collaboratively with district leadership to have a new counselor in place when we return from winter break. I will work closely with the new counselor during transition to ensure our students continue to receive the support they need. Thank you for your tremendous support of our school counseling program and prioritizing the social emotional well being of all of our wildcats. There's truly no other school quite like Pomerado!
~Ms. Yearing

Wildcat Fun Run πΎ
Our Wildcat Run was a roaring success thanks to our incredible parent and community volunteers! Weβre so grateful for everyone who stepped in to support the event and keep things running smoothly.
A special shoutout to our amazing organizers β Andrea Chamberlin Rodriguez, Sage Pierce, and Suzette Lam β for coordinating every detail, from the run logistics and fund collection to t-shirt orders and volunteer support. We couldnβt have done it without you!
We also want to recognize our key volunteer teams who brought the heart and hustle:
-
Lap Counters β helping students track their laps (and cheering them on along the way!)
-
Water Station Attendants β keeping our Wildcats hydrated
-
Cheering & Setup Crew β setting the stage and bringing the energy
Thank you, PAWS community, for showing up with enthusiasm, teamwork, and Wildcat pride! πΎπ
