As spring approaches, it’s hard to believe the warmer weather is just around the corner! This season brings renewed energy and excitement to our days.
Our third quarter is well underway, and we are proud of the progress students are making academically, socially, and emotionally. This quarter, we are focusing on Respect as part of our C.A.R.E Values. Respect means developing an environment where everyone is welcome so that, together, we leverage our differences to make a better West and a better world.
Students are practicing what it means to:
Listen to understand
Use kind, inclusive language
Include others
Accept differences
Disagree respectfully
Take responsibility for their actions
Support others
Follow shared rules and expectations
We will honor students who are nominated for demonstrating Respect during the third quarter. If you see your child modeling these behaviors at home, please reach out to your grade-level administrator to share your observations.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

WMS LIBRARY
📚 Wildcats Are Reading! 📚
As we prepare to participate in Cherry Creek Reads, now in its eighth year, we are excited to share that our West library data shows strong growth and increasing excitement around reading. Wildcats’ love for reading is on the rise, and we are proud of the momentum building across our classrooms.
Cherry Creek Reads brings our community together to read for the pure joy of reading. Literacy remains a key priority in the Cherry Creek Schools Strategic Plan, ensuring every student develops the skills needed to find their Pathway of Purpose. During Cherry Creek Reads 2026, students, families, and staff are encouraged to read for 68 minutes or more, one minute for every Cherry Creek school!
And we’re just getting started…
Stay tuned for the launch of our Wildcat Reads Book Club this fall, where students will be challenged to read alongside the principal or engage in independent choice reading. Throughout the year, readers will have opportunities to enter prize drawings and celebrate their progress together.
Wildcats’ love for reading is growing, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!

WMS SECURITY
Dear Parents,
To help ensure efficient traffic flow, student safety, and a smooth arrival and dismissal process for everyone, please be reminded that parking along the curbs is not permitted during school hours.
All vehicles must be parked in designated parking spaces only. Keeping curb areas clear allows for safer drop off and pick-up procedures and ensures convenient exit access for all families.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and organized environment for our students and staff.
COUNSELING/MENTAL HEALTH
WMS Food Pantry
Hello West Families,
We are excited to share that West is launching a school food pantry to help support our families.
Thanks to a district grant, we have received a supply of shelf-stable food items and are grateful for the opportunity to continue assisting those who may need a little extra support.
The pantry provides pre-packed bags with items such as ramen, soup, canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, and other non-perishable foods. If your family would benefit from receiving a food bag, please complete the form below so we can connect with you.
To access other food resources like fresh vegetables and perishable items, or to see how you can support our district food supply please follow the link below.

RIDING THE BUS
Transportation is required by CDE Regulations to account for all students on the bus and unauthorized passengers are not permitted. However, the Transportation Department recognizes that circumstances may arise, e.g. a family emergency, parents out of town, etc., when a student needs to ride home with another student on a one-time only basis. The student must get off at the assigned stop of the student they are riding with (no exceptions).
Make sure to fill out and turn in the linked Permission Slip to the Campus Admins office no later than 9:00 AM on the requested ride date. Forms can be printed and handed to the Campus Admins Assistant. Hard copies of the form can be picked up from the Campus Admins office if they are needed but must be picked up prior to the day they need to ride a different bus. No emails will be accepted. If there is an emergency, please call the Campus Admins office at 720-554-5155.
