From the Principal
Hello,
Another great week is in the books! I am grateful for this amazing weather (especially during football games). I am so proud of our teams for their incredible week. Middle School Volleyball gold team players won against Neodesha last week. The High School Volleyball team received 2nd place at the Flint Hills tournament Saturday and won against Cherryvale on Tuesday. Middle School football won against Neodesha. We had a second-place medalist at both Cross Country events last week. Bass fishing has a tournament on September 19th and the shooting team worked a fundraising event all weekend. Students are out and about and representing our school in our area.
I am impressed with Bluestem's incredible connection with the greater Leon and Butler County community. The Merchantile downtown is a great example of this. Next week is homecoming and I'm looking forward to what sounds like an amazing parade and pep assembly downtown. The fact that we "branch out" to downtown for this makes me so happy.
As we get the school year rolling, I am looking for some help. I need people to join our school site council. Site Councils are a group of community members and staff who work together to advocate and advise the school on matters such as student learning, education programs, school improvement planning and accreditation topics. The Bluestem Junior/Senior High School Site Council will meet once per quarter at 6:00pm on Monday evenings. If you are interested in participating, please click on the button below.
Thanks for all you do to help our school and to support students and teachers. As always, please let me know if there are any questions you need answered or if there is anything I can do to help you.
Have a Wonderful Week!
