The NDE is excited to launch the 2026 Teach in Nebraska Today Program (TINTP), which provides grants to support teachers within their first 5 years of teaching and who individually make less than $55,000 annually. This program is open to teachers in public and non-public schools, as well as those employed by an ESU. The application opens June 10th and closes July 10th at 11:59 PM CST. Applicants will be notified no later than October 10th and paid no later than December 10th. If you submitted a request for summer work hours, your Director (Mr. Edwards, Mrs. True, Mrs. Paider or Mr. Schwartz) will be reaching out with your approval. Once you have completed those hours, be sure to submit your TIMESHEET to them for approval.

NDE has made significant changes to the certification process. One of the most recent changes is how they recognize endorsement areas. If you already hold a current teaching certificate, all you need to do is pass the PRAXIS test, have the results sent to NDE, and apply to add an endorsement in the TEACH system.

• Any remaining hours will be rolled over into your bank. Once your bank is at 50 days, you will automatically be paid out for anything over the 50 days.
• Those people who are leaving the district will receive payment for ALL unused days in August.
• If you would like to be paid out for days INSTEAD of banking them, please reach out to Dellene and Dr. Herrmann to discuss your options.
