Superintendent's Letter

Thursday September 24, 2020 Update
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and the Lebanon Community,
Transition to Five Day In-Person Model-Targeted Date October 26, 2020
Last evening, the Lebanon School Board voted 6-3 to move from the A/B Hybrid Model to the Five Day In-Person Model. The date targeted for the first day of the Five Day In-Person Model is Monday, October 26th.
There will be a Lebanon School Board meeting via Zoom on Friday, September 25th, at 6:00 pm to determine if there will be modifications to physical distancing on buses and school start/end times.
Scenario 1: One student per seat which will maintain current social distancing but will impact our bus runs and possibly change start or end times at our schools.
Scenario 2: Two students per seat which will result in students sitting closer together but will allow us to maintain our current start and end times at all schools.
The Board will also determine if Friday, October 23, 2020 will be a Teacher In-Service Day to assist with the transitioning to the Five Day In-Person Model.
This weekend, a survey will be sent to families asking them to:
· Identify if their child(ren) will be participating in the Five Day In-Person Model or Fully Remote Model
· For children participating in the Five Day In-Person Model, if transportation is needed to and/or from school.
New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System- Fall Testing Information
Normally students in grades 3 through 8 participate in the New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (NH SAS) and students in grade 11 participate in the College Board School Day SAT and NH SAS science assessment in the spring. Students who have the most significant cognitive disabilities are eligible to take the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Assessment, as designed in their active individualized education program (IEP). This year, however, the NH DOE has added a fall state assessment for students in grades 4-8 and 12 due to the spring school closures. Please see here for a letter with more details on these upcoming assessments.
We know that these are very difficult, stressful, and challenging times for everyone. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your continued support.
Dr. Joanne Roberts
