4K-4 Families, 4K-4 Families,

It’s hard to believe November is already here! As we welcome a new month, we are reminded of all the opportunities we have to learn, grow, celebrate, and come together as a 4K–4 school community.

Throughout our classrooms, students continue to build new skills, discover their strengths, show kindness, and find meaningful ways to support one another. November is also a wonderful time to focus on gratitude... recognizing the little things that make a big difference and appreciating the people who make our school community so special. We see this gratitude reflected each day in the way our students care for one another, embrace new challenges, and take pride in their learning.

As we look ahead, we are excited for the many upcoming events, celebrations, and special moments that make this time of year so meaningful. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. Our school community is stronger because of the families, staff, and students who make it what it is each day.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful November filled with meaningful moments, joyful memories, and plenty of reasons to be grateful!

Julie

Student Attendance Matters! Student Attendance Matters!

It’s that time of year when we begin reaching out to families to check in and talk about student attendance. As part of our regular process, our first round of attendance letters will be coming home soon.

These letters are not intended to be a punishment or a notification of truancy. Rather, they are simply a way to share information, raise awareness, and open the door for conversation when attendance may be becoming a challenge.

Regular school attendance plays an important role in a child's success. Every day in the classroom brings new learning opportunities, meaningful interactions with classmates, and connections with teachers. When students are absent, they miss more than just a lesson. They miss opportunities to build relationships, participate in classroom activities, develop routines, and be part of our school community. Even occasional absences can add up over time and make it more difficult for students to keep pace with their learning.

Our goal is to work together with families to ensure every child has the opportunity to be at school, engaged, and learning as consistently as possible. We understand that illness, family circumstances, and unexpected situations happen. If you receive an attendance letter and have questions, concerns, or need support, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to listen, problem-solve, and partner with you to help your child feel successful and supported.

Every day matters, and every day counts! Thank you for partnering with us and helping your child show up, connect, learn, and grow each day. We truly appreciate your support!

Celebrating Our Students of the Month!

Just as importantly, being nominated for Student of the Month is an honor in itself! A nomination reflects the positive impact a student has made and the wonderful qualities their teachers recognize and celebrate in them.

Our Students of the Month are recognized for demonstrating qualities such as:

  • Respect- Treating others, themselves, and our school with kindness and care.

  • Responsibility- Giving their best effort, making positive choices, and taking ownership of their learning.

  • Citizenship- Helping others, showing compassion, and making our school a welcoming place for everyone.

  • Perseverance- Embracing challenges, demonstrating determination, and never giving up.

  • Positive Attitude- Bringing enthusiasm, encouragement, and a willingness to learn each day.

Congratulations to our Student of the Month Nominees! Congratulations to our Student of the Month Nominees!

We are excited to share that Osceola Intermediate School will once again host a Veterans Day Program, and we warmly invite our school families and community members to join us as we honor the brave men and women who have served our nation.

This year's program will recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of our veterans while also celebrating the 250th anniversary of our nation. Through music, reflection, and recognition, we will highlight the different branches of the United States military and pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country.

We look forward to bringing our school and community together for this special opportunity to express our gratitude and show our appreciation to the heroes who have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

With winter just around the corner, we want to make sure our families are prepared and know where to find important information when weather impacts the school day. Please take a moment to review our School Closure Information . It outlines how school closure decisions are made and how notifications are communicated to families.

As we head into the winter months, we encourage all families to familiarize themselves with these procedures so you know where to turn when inclement weather arrives. Thank you for helping us keep our students and families informed and prepared!

Winter Weather Reminders: Dress for the Outdoors!

As the temperatures begin to drop and winter weather settles in, we want to remind families to make sure students come to school each day dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We believe fresh air, movement, and time outdoors are important parts of the school day, and we want all students to be able to safely enjoy that time!

Please make sure your child comes to school with the appropriate winter gear, including:

  • Winter coat – Warm enough for cold temperatures.

  • Snow pants – Especially important for playing in the snow!

  • Hat and mittens/gloves – To keep little hands and heads warm.

  • Winter boots – Necessary for walking and playing in snowy or wet conditions.

As the weather changes, having all of these items at school each day helps ensure students can participate comfortably and safely in outdoor activities.

We understand that getting everyone bundled up can take a little extra time, but being prepared makes all the difference! Our goal is for students to stay warm, stay safe, and make the most of their time outdoors... even during a Wisconsin winter!

Thank you for helping us make outdoor recess a fun and positive part of every school day!

Partnering Together: Reinforcing Bus Expectations

Our school buses are an important part of the school day, and we want every student to have a safe, respectful, and positive ride to and from school. We appreciate the important role our bus drivers play in transporting our students each day, and we want to make sure they have the support they need to do their jobs safely.

We are asking families to partner with us by taking a few minutes to review and reinforce appropriate bus expectations at home. Students should understand that riding the bus is a privilege and that the same expectations we have at school apply while riding the bus.

A few important reminders for students include:

  • Be Safe: Stay seated, keep hands and feet to yourself, and follow the driver's directions.

  • Be Respectful: Use kind words, speak appropriately, and treat the driver and other passengers with respect.

  • Be Responsible: Follow bus rules, keep belongings to yourself, and make choices that help everyone have a safe ride.

Please remind your child that the bus driver's number one responsibility is getting everyone to and from school safely. Following directions, listening the first time, and making positive choices are essential to making that happen.

We know that strong school-home partnerships make a difference! Thank you for taking the time to have these conversations with your child and for helping us reinforce The Osceola Way: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible... both inside and outside of school. Together, we can make sure every bus ride is a safe and positive experience!

We’re excited to share our concert schedule for the 2026–2027 school year! You’ll notice that our grade-level concerts are intentionally spread throughout the school year rather than taking place all within the same month.

This change allows us to give each performance the time, preparation, and attention it deserves. It also provides our 4K–4 Music Teacher, Kelly Belisle, with additional flexibility as she takes on the added responsibility of supporting Osceola High School band students through individual and small-group lessons this year.

Each performance will continue to showcase the skills, creativity, and musical learning taking place in our classrooms. We look forward to welcoming families and celebrating the hard work, growth, and joy our students bring to the stage!

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make these special performances meaningful experiences for our students!

District Annual Notices District Annual Notices

Each year, school districts are required to share a set of Annual Notices with families. These notices outline important information about student rights, privacy, special education services, school nutrition, and other policies that help keep our schools safe, welcoming, and supportive for every student. While much of the language is formal, the purpose is simple: clarity, transparency, and partnership with you.
