She is doing a great job as a hallway patrol monitor in MES. She is kind, respectful and always has a big smile. She makes sure to say hi to every student and teacher. You are awesome.

Scarlett Leon

Scarlett is a hardworking student. She always tries her best. She has improved so much throughout this school year.

Tanner Seachord

Tanner completed his project, then assisted students with questions or concerns. I saw how proud he was to lend a helping hand and the great communication/teamwork the class presented.

Carter Zamudio

He has came out of his shell and is initiating his work and trying really hard. I am so proud of him.

Jeremiah Acuna

Jeremiah is always so festive when it comes to dress up days but this week he wore the most realistic/hilarious hat that deserves a shout out. It was an iconic Guy Fieri visor and it was just the perfect sight to see on hat day.

Everlee Garcia

Always willing to help and does it with a smile. She's kind and loving to her peers as well.

Lorraine DelBosque

Lorraine is a great student and does her work. She is very respectful and follows directions well.

Olivia Leija

Olivia is very interested in Science. She is a critical thinker and impresses me each day not only with her academics but also her ability to be kind and solve problems with other peers.

Audrey Salinas

Audrey is a hard worker in everything she does. Her enthusiasm in softball and in the classroom is contagious. Audrey is very well mannered and super disciplined. Hats off to you kiddo!!

J'Thaniel Chapa

J'Thaniel is a very respectful student who is always considerate of others - students and adults. He holds doors open, he helps students with tasks and sits with students who would otherwise sit alone. He is such a great student!!

Phoenix Deleon

I would like to recognize our Adaptive Ed student Phoenix Deleon on utilizing his reading and social skills by acknowledging staff members of Mathis ISD, keep up the great work!!!!

Manuel "Manny the Man" Herrera

Manuel Herrera, know to us at Mathis High School as "Manny the Man" is a Senior this year. He has been in my coursework I believe all four years of high school, if not, it sure has felt like it because he loves to volunteer for video productions. Manny is consistently working to support all Pirate activities and programs; he does his part and enjoys every minute of it. This week was no exception at Pirate Studios with him. He volunteered to take lead on a new segment that we are working on called "Pirate Shorts." He put himself out there to host a few of the Pirate Shorts episodes in which he must do a little interviewing and provide some words of encouragement. Manny did a great job at putting his personal style and loving charisma in his start up videos. Bravo Zulu!!!

Ms. Pressley is an amazing teacher and coach. She does her best every day and is fully committed to helping our students. Thank you Ms. Pressley for being an amazing person. We are blessed to have you here at the middle school.

Meggan is such a joy to be around. She is always willing to lend a helping hand. I am proud to call her my co-worker! :)

Jasmine Johns

She is very helpful with all students in the classroom. Jasmine helps keep all the kids on track within the lesson and has been helping with our intervention students as well.

Kim Napier

She is always going the extra mile not just for her students but for staff as well. Her kindness is shown in every interaction and every meeting with her. She is just AWESOME!

Rebecca Barnes

SHE IS AWESOME! Always goes above and beyond! Volunteers for EVERYTHING! Willing to jump in whenever someone is in need. ALWAYS HERE! Cheerful, greets the students with a smile and a good morning! Knows ALL the student's names. GREAT EMPLOYEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andreina De Leon

Andre is awesome because she's always ready to put you in a good mood. She works hard but isn't going to shy away from sharing a dance or laugh with you when given the chance. She's just the best vibe and I am so happy to have some much-needed positivity these days!

Dr. Torres

She consistently shows up whenever she is needed, no matter how busy her schedule may be. Even on her most demanding days, she gives our students her full attention, offering exceptional care, kindness, and patience.

She's comes in everyday with a smile and loves the mini pirates.

Mr. Odom

Mr. Odom always goes above and beyond to keep our campus safe. He watches over our school with care, stays alert to everything happening outside, and even stays late to support our extracurricular activities. We appreciate everything he does for us!

Mrs. Leija

Mrs. Leija is kind and patient and such a trooper! Amidst health issues and trying conditions, she has pushed through to be here and serve her students.

Coach G is an amazing human being! She works hard and is always willing to do extra.

Wendy Villarreal

Mrs. Wendy is EVERYWHERE! She is not only an amazing assistant coach for our campus, but she is able to fill in anywhere she is needed and does such a great job. She is an amazing team player.

Henry Perez

Mr. Perez is a second year Mathis High School Physics teacher who this year additionally volunteered to support MHS Career & Technical Education high demand and teach Health Science courses as well. He is a hard-charging hands-on lesson structured teacher that always has the best interest in the student's learning patterns in view. He additionally provides afterschool support for our students through various 21st Century programs. Mr. Perez is always looking for ways to support Pirate Photography and Pirate Studios by inviting us to all his hands on lessons like the catapults, egg drops, and on and on â€“ even the D&D afterschool meetings. This week was no exception with his support and ideas for Pirate Studios! Bravo Zulu!!!
