Get your calendars out, because the most wonderful and adorable time of the year is almost upon us! That's right; our annual Winter Concerts are right around the corner! To accommodate family seating, all concerts are held in the west gymnasium at Fulton High School.

Students are incredibly excited to show off their hard work. Think dazzling costumes, impressive chorale arrangements, and the potential for one or two spontaneous dance moves that weren't in the rehearsal plan. It’s an evening of entertainment you won't want to miss! Plus, your applause is the fuel that powers their little performer hearts.

From the Desk of: AP Marten

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the initial phase of our partnership with 1st Gateway Credit Union. Their team was at the school on December 4th to measure students for new shoes. This is a wonderful and much-appreciated program.

Please note: Any students who were absent on December 4th will still be measured for their new shoes on a subsequent date.

Volunteers provided a photo and media release form for each student, which should be arriving home shortly. To allow your child to be featured in coverage of this event, please complete the form and send it back to your child's teacher as soon as possible.

From the Desk of: Counselor Meumann

Communication skills are an important part of children’s development. Teaching effective communication skills to children may help them to express themselves clearly and convey their feelings in a better manner. The use of appropriate voice tones is very important. Demonstrate to your child what an appropriate voice tone sounds like. Children who are too passive are at a higher risk of being picked on. Students who are too aggressive in their interactions have fewer friends. Encourage your child to communicate their feelings to you. Acknowledge their feelings and try to see the situation through their eyes.

5th Grade Motivation

After Thanksgiving break, our 5th graders jumped right back into learning by tapping into their creativity. We spent time reflecting on what motivates us when things feel challenging, and students created personalized mini-posters to display in our classroom. These visual reminders help encourage us throughout the day, reminding everyone that we can do hard things and keep going, even when it’s tough!

It is easy to learn about the teacher that your child/children have or have had. However, at FBP and FES, we are one large team. For this reason, we will introduce and give some fun information about each of our family members in our newsletter!

Congratulations to this group of students who completed their Book Bingo by the deadline of October 31st. It was great to see all of the students step out of their reading comfort zone to try out different genres! An extra congrats is in order for the grand prize winner! Chevelle will be receiving a new book of her choice! Thank you to all of you at home who helped your kiddos complete the bingo cards! Stay tuned for our next reading incentive that will be starting shortly after the new year.
