Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,
The FY27 school budget was approved at Annual Town Meeting last week, including an amendment authorizing additional funding with the intention of avoiding secondary activity fees. This topic will be discussed at the next school committee meeting on April 6th, with a full financial update planned for the April 14th meeting. We are grateful for the Town's steadfast commitment to and investment in an inclusive, well-rounded education for all students.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 6th at the BHS LGI where the committee will hold the School Choice vote for 2026-2027 school year, hear an update on the work of the Anti-Hate/Bias Taskforce and the JGMS Celtics Playbook Initiative, discuss the FY27 budget as a result of an amendment at Annual Town Meeting, and consider contract renewal for the superintendent. The District will be hosting parent focus groups for the Skills Center/Academic Achievement program to gather feedback from families. These sessions are an opportunity to share input as we work to preserve what is working well while thoughtfully considering how to best staff the program. A virtual session will be held on April 7 via Zoom, and an in-person session will take place on April 9 in the BHS LGI. We encourage all interested parents and caregivers to participate and share their perspectives. Please RSVP for these events here. We will also be gathering feedback from students and staff.
The Bedford High School Principal search continues to move forward. The District Leadership Screening Committee has completed initial candidate screenings and has identified a group of five candidates who will participate in the next phase of the process, including interviews with the Principal Search Advisory Committee next week.
