Ballots were mailed to all registered voters this week.

Besides voting Yes on Prop 3 and voting for Richard Barrera for Superintendent of Public Instruction, you can also support public education and students by voting in your local school board elections. Please stand in solidarity with our fellow union siblings in your residential area by voting for their endorsed school board candidates. Use this link to access the CTA voter guide to find out which candidate has been endorsed by the Teachers Association where you live.

And of course, a friendly reminder to remember to mail in or drop off your ballot by Tuesday, November 3rd.

Membership Engagement Committee Update

Our newly created Membership Engagement Committee is hard at work organizing our quarterly event. Amanda Acosta, Kenneth Eaves, and Amanda Gieser are organizing a Halloween themed Sip & Paint Night.

All necessary materials will be provided as well as snacks and refreshments. To join us for some spooktacular fun, please RSVP using the QR code on the flyer or this link.

Bargaining Input

Your Bargaining Team, composed of Joe Coglianese (TRHS), Joe D’Amelia (SOHS), Anna López (SOHS), Brooke Thorson (FUHS), and Mike Reid (TRHS), met on October 1st. Per our MOU F, MOU G, and MOU H, members of the team will be meeting with the District to discuss Articles IV, V, and VIII respectively. Those meetings are scheduled for October 15th and November 4th.

Additionally, in the spring we have the opportunity to open and negotiate two Articles of the contract. The attached Bargaining Survey will help us identify the issues that are most important to you and your colleagues. Please submit it by Friday, December 11th at 4:00pm. If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Mike Reid, (mitreid@sbcglobal.net) or any of the other Bargaining Team members.
