Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Bus Riders Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Bus Riders

  • All bus riders have been tagged on the first day of school with their bus number when they get off the bus.

  • All students are expected to behave appropriately, use appropriate language and be respectful and courteous to fellow students, staff and the bus driver while riding the bus. Please have a conversation with your children about safety on the bus.

  • Students should remain in their seats for the duration of the bus ride and keep their hands to themselves. This will help establish a positive climate where students feel safe when they are riding the bus.

  • If your child experiences or witnesses inappropriate behavior in the bus, please reach out to Ms. Jayme Brewrink.

Carloop Directions and Pictures!

  • The speed limit on school property is 10 miles per hour.

  • Please have your CAR TAG in the window visible for staff to see.

  • All HCPSS Schools are smoke-free zones. The campus begins at Montgomery Road.

  • All cars must be in the right line of the driveway.

    • We ask that you wrap around the middle school bus loop along the curb (avoid hugging the curb) which leaves the path open for buses to get through.

  • All students exit their cars on the right at the gym entrance. Students may not get out of cars and walk down the sidewalks or across the median.

  • Please refrain from using handheld devices while operating your vehicles.

  • Please keep your attention on the staff in Safety Vests and the car in front of you.

  • EES and ELMS Bus Loops are for buses and daycare vans only. There should not be any parking in either bus loop between the hours of 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

  • Dismissal changes need to be called into the office by 3:00 pm on full days and 11:30 am on half days.

  • If your child is a car rider, and changes aren’t noted before dismissal then you will need to go to the front office to get your child.

  • To ensure the safety of all, students will NOT be dismissed from the gym as a walker or bus rider unless the front office has contacted staff in the gym first.

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders:

Student Arrival and Breakfast:

Students will be admitted into the building between 9:10 and 9:25 AM. Breakfast service will end promptly at 9:30 AM. Please ensure students arrive on time, especially if they plan to eat breakfast, as the kitchen doors will close at 9:30 AM.

Dismissal:

Student dismissal begins promptly at 3:55 and is completed by 4:15. Recently, we have noticed an increase in students waiting to be picked up at 4:30 and beyond. Late pickups can disrupt school operations and create unnecessary delays for staff and administration. We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring students are picked up on time. Thank you for helping us keep our dismissal process efficient and ensuring the safety of all our students. Please call the front office by 2:30PM if you are changing the way your child is being picked up from school. Also, only students who are car riders are dismissed from the gym. If you are walking up to meet your child at the car rider door, you will need to go to the main office to pick them up.

  • Car Riders: For a safe and efficient car loop, please remember to keep your car tag visible and stay in the car line at all times. Car riders are dismissed from the gym doors.

  • Bus Riders: The most accurate and up-to-date bus route information can be found in Synergy, not the HPSS Bus Locator.

  • Walkers: Walkers are dismissed from the cafeteria door. If you are meeting your child who is a walker, please park off-campus and walk onto campus to meet them. There is no room for parking on campus, and the car loop is very long.

  • Student Identification: To help us get every student to the correct location quickly and safely, please make sure your child knows their first and last name, grade, and their homeroom teacher's name. We found that many students were unsure of this information today, which can slow down our dismissal process.
