⭐ Principal's Message
Way'/Hello/Bonjour,
It has been wonderful to see students demonstrating confidence, perseverance and a commitment to their learning. Whether in the classroom, during collaborative learning tasks, or while tackling new challenges, our students continue to make us proud with their efforts and achievements both inside and outside of the classroom.
Beyond academics, our school has been buzzing with activity. Thank you to all of the students and staff who have been participating in volleyball, cross country, rugby, leadership and food programs. KLO has been hosting volleyball events and the energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship being displayed on and off the courts and fields has been wonderful to see. These activities help build belonging, connecting and community at KLO.
This week, our learning around Truth and Reconciliation provided opportunities for learning, reflection and understanding. Students engaged in meaningful conversations about the history and legacy of residential schools and explored ways we can continue to foster respect, empathy, and reconciliation in our community. We are proud of the thoughtful participation and learning demonstrated by our students.
Good luck to our KLO teams competing in the Best of the West.
Have a wonderful weekend. Go Cougars!

KLO Parking Lot
Please avoid using staff parking areas and be sure to leave the bus lanes on Gordon Drive accessible, at all times.
- To ensure student safety, we kindly ask that you respect the signage and flow of the parking lot.
- We encourage families to arrange drop-off and pick-up spots that are off campus, such as Okanagan College, Evangel Church, or Lanfranco Road.
- Dropping off a little earlier or picking up a little later is also very helpful.
- While waiting for your student(s), please do not let your car idle in the parking lot to ensure the health and wellbeing of everyone.
Thank you so much for your patience, understanding and support.
Attention E-Scooters and E-bike Owners
E-Bikes and Electric Kick Scooters: As part of our shared commitment to student safety and well-being, we want to ensure all families are aware of the BC government’s regulations regarding the use of e-bikes and electric kick scooters. E-bikes and electric kick scooters have specific regulations under BC law to ensure safety and compliance. They also have a minimum age requirement: E-bikes (minimum age 16 -14 years for certain bikes), and E-scooters (minimum age of 16). Why this matters? Our school has a responsibility to support safe travel for all students. We can work together to prevent accidents and ensure that students are not unknowingly placed in unsafe or unlawful situations. We kindly ask for your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home. More information can be found at the following links: E-Scooters and E-Bikes.
