The Weekly Roar: Family Edition

Mableton Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Our students and teachers are doing an amazing job this year, and I couldn’t be prouder of the positive energy and teamwork happening throughout our school.

Last week, our teachers participated in their ½ Day Planning Sessions, and the substitute teachers who covered their classes had such wonderful things to say — they were incredibly impressed by how well-behaved, respectful, and engaged our Mableton students are. That speaks volumes about the character of our kids and the partnership we share with our families.

This Friday is our annual Trunk or Treat, and I’ve heard it’s one of Mableton’s favorite traditions! I can’t wait to experience it for the first time and see all the creativity and community spirit that makes this event so special.

Our 3rd and 5th grade students will take the IOWA Assessments (October 21–24). Please make sure students get plenty of rest and arrive on time each day ready to do their best.

This week is also Bus Driver Appreciation Week! Please take a moment to share a kind word or note with your bus driver — they work tirelessly to ensure our students get to and from school safely every single day, and they truly deserve some extra love and recognition.

Show Up and Shine

This week, attend a school event, cheer them on in an activity, or ask detailed questions about their day. Your presence tells them they matter and that you’re proud to be part of their journey.

On Friday we sent out information via CTLS about our 5th grade trip to Chattanooga in April. The flyers are in English and Spanish. Unlike most school trips, you will pay the company directly instead of through MyPaymentsPlus. You can pay in installments. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions. Additionally, you still need to go into ParentVue and give permission for your child to attend.

To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school community, all visitors must adhere to the following procedures when arriving at the school:

1. Ring the Doorbell:
   Upon arrival at the school entrance, visitors are required to ring the doorbell located at the main entrance. This notifies staff of your presence.
2. Hold ID to the Camera:
   After ringing the doorbell, please hold a valid, government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) up to the camera for verification.
   🔹 IDs must be in hard copy form. Digital copies or IDs displayed on a phone or other electronic device will not be accepted.
   This step helps us confirm your identity before granting entry.
3. State the Nature of Your Visit:
   Once your ID has been shown, speak clearly into the intercom system and state the reason for your visit. Please provide specific details (e.g., meeting with a staff member, student pick-up – include the student’s name, delivering supplies).
4. Wait for Authorization:
   After verification, school staff will authorize your entry.
   🚫 Please do not hold the door open for others who have not completed the check-in process.

Celebrate Your Child's Birthday on the School Marquee!

Would you like to make your child's birthday extra special? For just $10.00, you can add their name to our school marquee!

Your child's name will be included with our group birthday shout-outs for the entire month of their birthday, plus a special personalized birthday slide just for them on their actual birthday (or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend or school break).

Payments can be made by cash (submitted in a marked envelope and placed in the black box in the front office) or through MyPaymentsPlus.
