Mill Valley Weekly
October 16th, 2025
Hello Mill Valley Families,
We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is key to your child's success. Throughout the year, our teachers and staff are dedicated to celebrating your child's progress and achievements with you.
You can look forward to seeing this in many ways, including:
Personal notes and comments on papers sent home
Recognition certificates, like our Paw Print Winners
Monthly Golden Awards and Recess Royalty honors
Special "Student Howl Out" phone calls or post card home to share great news
Classroom newsletters and other positive messages home
We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in your child's education and deeply appreciate the supportive community we serve.
In Partnership,
Allyce Harris
Mill Valley Principal

Important Reminders about School Notes from the Doctor
Thank you parents for your efforts to ensure that our office receives a medical excuse when your child is absent for an appointment. That is the only way that we can code the absence as “excused”. Please read below to clarify what the school can use as a medical excuse:
A standard doctor's note for school should include the following details:
Healthcare Provider Information: The name, address, and phone number of the clinic or doctor's office.
Patient Information: The student's full name and date of birth.
Official Letterhead: The note must be on the clinic's official letterhead.
Dates of Absence: The specific dates the student was seen by the doctor and the period they are to be absent from school.
Recommended Activity Restrictions: Any limitations on physical activity or other special instructions the student must follow upon their return to school.
Expected Return Date: The date the student is expected to return to school or resume normal activities.
*If you have any questions or concerns please contact our School Social Worker,
Jaime Goelz at jaime.goelz@muskegonorway.org.
