Dear SHS Families,

This was the first week that the change of the seasons really started setting in around the school. The air on the playground is a little thinner, the shift back from daylight savings has set in, and the temperature feels a lot cooler outside. It is a good time to look at what clothes your student have for the cold. Double check that your student has warm clothes that fit and are in uniform as the cold comes in. As it warms up throughout the day, students often shed layers as the day goes on. Make sure that your family’s name is clearly written on the inside of clothing, so should they get misplaced, they can be returned.

Tomorrow, November 9th, SHS will be participating in the Ottawa Veteran’s Day Parade. There was an email sent yesterday, if your student would like to be a part of this year’s float. I hope to see you all there.

There are some exciting lunches and brunches coming up in the month of November. This Tuesday, November 12th, will be the November Birthday lunch. RSVP with the office to let us know if you will be joining us that day to celebrate your student with a November Birthday. Tuesday November 26th is also the Grandparent’s Day Brunch. Information was sent home to RSVP guests and students. Please have those returned so we can best prepare the appropriate amount of food.

The week of November 18th- November 22nd, we will be asking families, students and staff to fill out surveys that will help the school in its strategic planning. More information will be sent out next week. Thank you in advance for your feedback. That same week, SHS will be participating in Discover Catholic Schools week by asking main street and other businesses to help promote the school by having a SHS sign in their window. If you know of a business that might be interested in supporting this cause, reach out to Mr. Greer.
