An Update from Jason
Hello All,
I hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend and are all well. It's pretty quiet at the Gingold/Affolter house. Renee left for Denver for the week. I saw my dad on Saturday, and we watched the UVM Basketball game. I am excited about the NCAA tournament and the 11 days until Major League Baseball starts. All in all, it was a lovely weekend.
This week, we have conferences, a Board meeting with a hopefully updated budget amount, a Choral Concert, Field Trips, Enrichment, and the first-ever Soup for the Soul. It should be a different week and one full of connections. Thank you to the enrichment team and the Soup for the Soul team for offering us the opportunity to not only have a delicious meal but also time to continue to build relationships.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about the budget, and we will know more prior to the board meeting on Wednesday after our leadership meeting.
I hope you all have a great new week. We are happy and willing to assist if you need anything. And we are available to attend conferences if you need us.
Sincerely,
Jason
"We can be our own worst enemy sometimes. We often think or expect the worst because it's the easiest thing to believe when we don't believe in ourselves. Instead of being your worst enemy, be kinder to yourself. Give yourself the credit you deserve, and try to see the situation for how it is, not how you have created it in your mind. Give your mind a little rest, beautiful. Save that brain space for new ideas and adventures, for the things you love and the people you love. Breathe in, breathe out. You've got this."
― Charlotte Freeman, This Was Meant To Find You Sincerely,

Reminders (To Do)
- Please enter your upcoming spring events onto the shared Staff Calendar. This way we do not miss any events and or double book.
- The Instructional Assistant's Schedule for Thursday is below. IA's are not in attendance on 3/22.
- Our Staff Food drive Box is looking sparse...please help donate.
- Please read and respond to Sue's email about COGNIA if you have not done so:
This is a draft of room assignments for students and proctors for the VTCAP testing, April 2-4. Please take a moment to look this over, and let me know if: - You will not be here on the day you are assigned to proctor.
- There is an issue with your room assignment. For the most part, I tried to keep teachers in their own rooms, unless their classroom is not set up with desks.
- If you are assigned to proctor on more than one day. The exception to this is special educators, who should oversee IAs proctoring students in separate settings.
- If you see any other major issue with the assignments.
Summer PD Opportunity
AI Summer Professional Development Opportunity
Summer PD- AI In Burlington Hulu.
A nonprofit dedicated to raising artificial intelligence literacy across the state. Each of us has experience in this field and believe strongly in AI's transformative potential to benefit our fellow Vermonters. Accordingly, we are planning a series of annual summits called “AI in the Classroom,” each followed by two regional conferences and an online platform where educators can share their successes and find solutions to their challenges.
The inaugural summit designed for K-12 teachers is set for June 27th at Hula, a beautiful co-working space in Burlington on the waterfront. The goal is to increase our attendees' competence and confidence in the use of this technology to better enable our students to navigate an increasingly AI-driven world. The potential benefits are staggering including, say some reports, a 128% increase in salary compared to other technology-related jobs, yet fewer than 10% of our educators feel equipped to incorporate this knowledge into their curriculum's. We aim to change that and have the facts, the supporting data, and the strategies to make it happen.
For months now, we have been diligently connecting with educators and building an advisory team that includes Lisa Helme, Agency of Education, and Mike McCraith, VT Principals. More information on who we are and what we’re up to is here: aiVermont.org.
TA CONNECTIONS GAME CHALLENGE
1. Use the link that provided as well as the shared doc where teachers/administrators can enter their Connection.
2. Have your TA make a COPY and create their own Connections, and include your TA NAME.
Share it with Jason so we can add it to our shared folder.
3. Jason will share the week's link each Tuesday morning with a brief Good Morning MHS Community blurb
4. Once we have enough Connections, we can begin.
