Message from the Principal
Dear Mitchell High School Families,
Quarter 1 is in the books, and Quarter 2 begins this week! We hope you will join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Marauders Parent Academy. These opportunities allow us to connect, reflect, and collaborate around your student's academic success, achievement, and postsecondary readiness. Please see the schedule above.
At Mitchell, we continue to celebrate our best state report card rating in more than 10 years and our move from Priority Improvement in 2025 to Improvement in 2026. To sustain this momentum, students and staff will participate in our first round of College Board PSAT/SAT practice testing on Monday, October 12. This marks the third year Mitchell has used this practice to help students prepare for the official spring assessments. The College Board platform provides valuable data to guide instruction while helping students build confidence, stamina, and test-taking skills. In addition, strong PSAT and SAT performance can expand opportunities for college admission, scholarships, and other forms of financial support.
As we look ahead to a well-deserved Fall Break from October 19-23, I encourage all students to finish the quarter strong by engaging fully in these important opportunities. Parent-Teacher Conferences, PSAT/SAT practice testing, and Senior College and Career Readiness Demonstrations will help build momentum for a successful second quarter and position us well for the remainder of the semester.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to Mitchell High School, where We Increase Numbers by believing in our Students, WINS!

Weekly Celebration
Last week Mr. Moore held our fall band concert and Mr. Grantz held our fall choir concert where students performed and did an amazing job. Their hard work and dedication showed and we can't wait to see what they show us in the spring.
PSAT/NMSQT Practice Test Preparation
On Monday, October 12, Mitchell High School students will complete a PSAT practice assessment during an extended Future Ready period from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. using the College Board Bluebook platform. Ninth-grade students will take the PSAT 8/9, while 10th and 11th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT. These practice tests help students become familiar with the digital testing format and prepare for future college and career readiness assessments.
After testing, students will attend lunch and then return to their regular afternoon classes.
