A note from your principal A note from your principal

Dear West Middle School Families,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at West Middle School! The WMS Admin Team is incredibly excited about the year ahead and proud of the energy, enthusiasm, and positivity we have already seen throughout our building. We are off to a great start, and we are looking forward to all that this school year has in store for our students, staff, and families.

One of the things that makes West Middle School so special is our Wildcat family, and this year we are excited to welcome a great balance of returning and new teachers. Our returning staff bring experience, relationships, and a deep commitment to our students, while our new staff members bring fresh ideas, energy, and excitement. We are thrilled to have such a strong team working together to make WMS a great place for students to learn and grow.

We are also kicking off the year with Homecoming Week! Our students have already shown their Wildcat spirit with Neon Monday and Tropical Tuesday, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings:

  • 🌶️ Wednesday – Cajun Jersey Day
  • 🐊 Thursday – Gator Spirit Day: Wear your West colors!
  • 💤 Friday – Pajama Day

Homecoming Week is always a great opportunity to build school spirit, create memories, and remind our students that being part of the Wildcat family is something to celebrate!

We couldn't be more proud of the way our students and staff have started the schoolyear. There is an excitement throughout the building that makes us incredibly optimistic about what lies ahead. We are ready to work hard, have fun, build relationships, and make this a fantastic year at West Middle School.

Go Wildcats! We are looking forward to an amazing school year together!

With Wildcat Pride,
The WMS Admin Team

Each month we will recognize students and staff members who have shown growth, leadership, and W.E.S.T values. They will be recognized with a certificate, in our monthly newsletter, and in person with family invited during a gathering. Watch for these to come.

September is National Preparedness Month

Wildfires have been a recent concern in our nation. The US government is highlighting information on preparing for wildfires on their Ready website. The beauty of this site is they provide information on how to prepare for many disasters such as flooding, power outages, emergency alerts, and how to make a safety kit for your family. This is a valuable site to keep. Please visit the site here https://www.ready.gov

Looking ahead through the school year. Looking ahead through the school year.

Please note, there are changes from the previous months.
