Academy Announcements
Dear Academy Families & Friends,
With one half day left in the school year on Tuesday, June 20th, it truly is bittersweet to see all the great things we achieved this year come to an end. Reflecting on this year, it was truly one to remember!!! As the principal of Academy, I want to start this final weekly message with my sincerest thanks. Thank you to our amazing community, our families, our incredible staff, and most importantly....our wonderful students. Academy truly is a great school not because of our campus or programs, but because of the character and dedication of our people. We are ONE family!
- First and foremost, Happy Father's Day weekend to all those dads, step-dads, grandfathers, and caregivers out there making a difference in the lives of our students.
- Thank you again to all of our volunteers and helpers throughout the year. Your efforts and supports are deeply appreciated. Thank you for being an example for our students on how to give back and enrich our school community. Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
- This past week was a big week for our 5th Graders. They did great at the promotion ceremony, the Chapman Band Concert and then hosting the final PBIS rally on Thursday! I wish you all the best in middle school. They also sold out the grand opening of school store, "Wildcat Workshop"...even with the $1 maximum cap!
- This past week, our staff and coaches came together to look at our end of the year data...the results are in! We had great growth. During these sessions, teachers looked at each and every child and discussed their progress, growth, and needs as well as interventions and supports to help their future teachers know how to hit the ground running in September!!!
- Chromebook reminders: Chromebooks and chargers should be home and remain home for the summer. Students will still have access to ST Math, Lexia Core 5, Bookflix, Freckle, and other great programs to keep those skills sharp.
- Tomorrow, June 19th is the observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. Schools will be closed. Click here for more information regarding the holiday.
- Report cards will be released on Tuesday, June 20th through the Aspen Family Portal at the end of the day.
- Tuesday, June 20th is the last day of school. It is a half day of school for the students. We will be holding our first student/staff kickball game!!! Dismissal at 11:50AM.
In closing, thank you for all your efforts supporting the school over the course of the year. From reading nightly with your children to lending a hand in our many events and programs, it all adds up to amazing opportunities for our students, which enhances the learning experiences and love of learning.
Mr. Higgins
