279Online being reconfigured to a middle and high school
After much consideration, our leadership team has made the difficult decision to close the elementary portion of 279Online at the end of this school year. This means 279Online students kindergarten through grade four will need to choose another school option for their elementary education.
What’s next: This transition will be a multi-step process with communication at the forefront to ensure that 279Online staff and families are fully informed and able to make the best next step decisions. Last week our 279Online staff and families were informed. Today, our greater Osseo Area Schools community is being informed.
Go deeper: This decision was chosen for a variety of reasons including the decline in 279Online student enrollment at the elementary level, and the operational and financial impacts associated with this decline. Learn more at online.district279.org.
